OUTLINE
The engine immobiliser system compares the ID code that is registered in the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) with the ID code of the transponder chip that is embedded in the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly. If these ID code match, the system unsets and the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) transmits a steering unlock request signal to the steering lock ECU (steering lock actuator assembly). Thus, the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) and the power management control ECU communicate with each other to authorize fuel injection and ignition, enabling the hybrid system to start.
Tech Tips
When replacing the power management control ECU or making a new electrical key transmitter sub-assembly, key recognition code(s) must be registered. For details, refer to the Repair Manual.
