  1. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS


    1. The electrical remote control mirror system consists of the following parts:

      Component Function
      Outer Mirror Switch Assembly Right/Left Select Switch Consists of R and L switches. One must be chosen to operate the outer mirror switch assembly.
      Mirror Surface Angle Adjustment Switch After selecting the R or L switch, the right, left, up and down control switches can be operated to change the angle of the mirror.
      Retraction/Restoration Switch* Retracts and returns the outer rear view mirror assemblies.
      Outer Rear View Mirror Assembly Adjusts the position of the mirror surface by operating the motors in the mirror sub-assembly.

    2. The mirror heater system consists of the following parts:

      Component Function
      Mirror Heater Helps reduce frost and dew build-up on the mirror surface.
      Rear Defogger and Mirror Heater Switch Can be used to operate the mirror heaters.

  2. FUNCTION


    1. Power Retractable Electrical Remote Control Function


      1. The user operates a switch on top of the outer mirror switch assembly to control the retraction of the electric remote mirrors.

    2. Mirror Heater System


      1. The mirror heater system uses a heater element in each mirror to help remove frost and dew from the mirrors.

      2. The mirror heaters are controlled by the air conditioning amplifier assembly.

      3. The mirror heaters operate at the same time as the rear defogger system.

  3. OPERATION


    1. Mirror Heater System


      1. The mirror heaters are activated when the power switch is on (IG), and rear defogger switch is pushed. The air conditioning amplifier assembly keeps the mirror heater on for approximately 15 minutes. Also, under the specified conditions*, another 45 minutes (at the maximum) is added to the operation time.

        *: Vehicle speed is 45 km/h (28 mph) or more and the outside temperature is -3°C (27°F) or below.
