CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM GENERAL

  1. OUTLINE

    1. The Controller Area Network (CAN) uses V bus and sub bus 2.

    2. The CAN V bus, CAN sub bus 2 and sub bus 13 are HS-CAN buses that operate at 500 kbps.

    3. Each CAN bus has 2 terminating resistors which are necessary for accurate judgment of communication.

    4. The terminating resistors for each bus are located as shown in the following table.

Speed Communication Bus Terminating Resistor Location
      High-speed (HS-CAN) CAN V Bus
      • ECM

      • Combination Meter Assembly

      CAN Sub Bus 2
      • Network Gateway ECU

      • ST-Plug

      CAN Sub Bus 13
      • Driving Support ECU Assembly

      • Millimeter Wave Radar Sensor Assembly

    5. The network gateway ECU has a gateway function and is used to transmit data between the CAN V bus and the CAN sub bus 2.

    6. The driving support ECU assembly has a gateway function and is used to transmit date between the CAN sub bus 2 and CAN sub bus 13.

  2. MAJOR DIFFERENCE

    1. The 2015 models have been modified from the 2014 models as shown below:

      1. ECUs, which are connected to the CAN, have been added.
