THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM


  1. SYSTEM OPERATION


    1. Except Models with Standard Grade Specification Theft Deterrent System


      1. The states of the theft deterrent system are as follows:

        State Description Theft Detection
        Disarmed State The theft deterrent system has not been set by the user. -
        Armed Preparation State The standby state before the theft deterrent system activates when the system has already been set. -
        Armed State The theft deterrent system is being activated. (Theft can be detected.)
        Alarm State Theft has been detected and the warning operation activates. -

      2. The theft deterrent system activates as described in the diagram below when one of items in the chart occurs in order to cause the system to enter the respective state.

        Condition Item
        (1)

        In the disarmed state, when the engine switch is OFF, the system state is switched if all of the following conditions are met.


        • All doors, engine hood and back door are closed.

        • All doors are locked using the key (electronic key) lock button, the entry and start system *1or key (mechanical key)*1.

        (2) The system state is switched when the doors, engine hood, and back door are all closed and locked, and approximately 30 seconds have elapsed.
        (3)

        The system state is switched when one of the following conditions is met.


        • Any door, engine hood, or back door is opened.

        • Any door is unlocked.

        • The engine switch is pushed.

        • A terminal is disconnected from the battery and reconnected.

        (4)

        The system state is switched when one of the following conditions is met.


        • With all doors closed, any door is opened.

        • With all doors locked, any door is unlocked by a method other than key (electronic key), the entry and start system or the key (mechanical key).

        • With the back door closed, the back door is opened by a method other than the entry and start system or the key (mechanical key).

        • With the engine hood closed, the engine hood is opened.

        • A terminal is disconnected from the battery and reconnected. *2

        • A terminal is disconnected from the battery. *3

        • The engine switch has been changed to IG-ON by hot wiring and not by operating the engine switch.

        • The intrusion sensor*4 detects movement in the vehicle interior.

        • The tilt sensor*5 detects a change in vehicle inclination.

        • The certification ECU detects on open circuit in the print pattern or rear window defogger*6.

        The system state is switched when one of the following conditions is met.


        • Any door is unlocked with the key (mechanical key)*1 or key (electronic key).

        • The engine switch has been changed to IG-ON by operating the engine switch. *1

        (6) The system state is switched after the alarm time elapses.

        *1: Except European models.

        *2: Models with security horn.

        *3: Models with self-power siren.

        *4: Models with intrusion sensor

        *5: Models with tilt sensor

        *6: Models with print pattern type glass breakage sensor

    2. Models with Standard Grade Specification Theft Deterrent System


      1. There are 2 disarmed states: A and B. The transition diagram and states for this system have been changed to reflect this.

      2. Alerting by the room light has been discontinued.

      3. The states of the theft deterrent system are as follows:

        State Description Theft Detection
        Disarmed State A (Engine Hood and Back Door are Closed) The theft deterrent system has not been set by the user. Not Possible
        Disarmed State B (Engine Hood and Back Door are Open)
        Armed Preparation State This is the preparation state before the theft deterrent system becomes active (enters the armed state) when the system has been set by the user. Not Possible
        Armed State The theft deterrent system is active. (Theft can be detected.) Possible
        Alarm State A theft attempt has been detected and the warning operation activates. Possible

      4. The theft deterrent system activates as shown in the diagram above when one of the items in the chart occurs in order to cause the system to enter the respective state.

        Condition 1
        (1)

        When the ignition switch is off and the ignition key is not inserted into the ignition cylinder, disarmed state B will be switched to if either of the following conditions are met:


        • All doors are locked using the wireless door lock control system while all doors are closed and the engine hood is open.

        • All doors are closed after any door has been opened while the engine hood is open.

        (2)

        Disarmed state A will be switched to if any of the following conditions are met:


        • When one of the doors is unlocked.

        • When one of the doors is opened.

        • When the ignition key is inserted in the ignition key cylinder.

        • When the ignition switch has been turned to ON or ACC.

        • When a terminal is disconnected from the battery and reconnected.

        • All doors are unlocked using the wireless door lock control system.

        (3)

        When the ignition switch is off and the ignition key is not inserted into the ignition cylinder, the armed preparation state can be switched to via the following operation:


        • All doors are locked using the wireless door lock control system while all doors and the engine hood are closed.

        (4) Armed preparation state will be switched to when the engine hood is closed.

        Disarmed state A will be switched to if any of the following conditions are met:


        • All doors are unlocked using the wireless door lock control system.

        • When one of the doors is unlocked.

        • When one of the doors is opened.

        • When the ignition key is inserted in the ignition key cylinder.

        • When the ignition switch has been turned to ON or ACC.

        • When a terminal is disconnected from the battery and reconnected.

        Disarmed state B will be switched to if the following condition is met:


        • Engine hood is opened.

        • Back door is opened

        (7) The armed state will be switched to 30 seconds after switching to the armed preparation state.
        (8)

        Disarmed state A will be switched to if any of the following conditions are met:


        • All doors are unlocked using the wireless door lock control system.

        • 2 seconds have elapsed since the engine was started.

        • The ignition switch is turned to ON or ACC.

        (9) The armed state will be switched to after approx. 27.5 seconds have passed.

        The alarm state will be switched to if any of the following conditions are met:


        • Engine hood is opened.

        • When a terminal is disconnected from the battery and reconnected.

        • When one of the doors is unlocked.

        • When one of the doors is opened.

        • When the ignition switch has been turned off and then turned to ON.
