THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM

FUNCTION

1. The theft deterrent system has the following function (except models with standard grade specification theft deterrent system):

   Function	Outline
   Alarm	When the theft deterrent system enters the alarm state, the warning items (hazard warning lights, vehicle horn, and security horn*1 or self-power siren*2) are operated for approximately 30 seconds.
   Security Indicator	When the state of the theft deterrent system enters the armed preparation or alarm state, the security indicator light is illuminated to inform the user. This indicator is also the engine immobiliser indicator, it blinks when the engine immobiliser is in an engaged state.
   Forced Door Lock	The main body ECU transmits a door lock signal to all the doors when all the following conditions are satisfied. The theft deterrent system is in the alarm state. Either front door is unlocked without using the key (mechanical key). (IG OFF, ACC OFF position) The function stops when one of the following conditions is met. All doors are locked. [lock function of door lock or key (electronic key) is operated] The warning ends after approximately 30 seconds. Either front door is unlocked using the key (mechanical key).
   Panic Control*	When the PANIC button of the key (electronic key) is pressed, the main body ECU activates the alarm function.

   *1: Models with security horn

   *2: Models with self-power siren

   *3: Models with panic control function

2. The theft deterrent system has the following function (models with standard grade specification theft deterrent system):

   Function	Outline
   Alarm	When the theft deterrent system enters the alarm state, the warning items interior lights, hazard warning lights, vehicle horn and security horn are operated for approximately 30 seconds.
   Security Indicator	When the state of the theft deterrent system enters the armed preparation or alarm state, the security indicator light is illuminated to inform the user. This indicator is also the engine immobiliser indicator. It blinks when the engine immobiliser is in an engaged state.
   Forced Door Lock	The main body ECU transmits a door lock signal to all the doors when all the following conditions are satisfied. The theft deterrent system is in the alarm state. Driver door is unlocked not by using the ignition key. (ignition switch is off) The function stops when one of the following conditions is met. All doors are locked (wireless door lock control system or ignition key is operated). The warning ends after approx. 27.5 seconds. Driver door is unlocked using the ignition key.
