SLIDING ROOF SYSTEM


  1. FUNCTION


    1. The sliding roof system has the following functions:

      Function Outline
      Manual Open-and-close This function causes the sliding roof to open (or close) while the OPEN switch (or CLOSE switch) is pressed for less than 0.3 seconds. The sliding roof stops as soon as the switch is released.
      One Touch Auto Open-and-close This function enables the sliding roof to be fully opened (or closed) by the OPEN switch (or CLOSE switch) for longer than 0.3 seconds.
      Manual Tilt Up-and-down This function causes the sliding roof to tilt up (or tilt down) while the UP switch (or DOWN switch) is pressed for less than 0.3 seconds. The sliding roof stops as soon as the switch is released.
      One Touch Auto Tilt Up-and-down This function enables the sliding roof to be fully tilt up (or down) by the UP switch (or DOWN switch) for longer than 0.3 seconds.
      Jam Protection This function automatically stops the sliding roof and moves it open half way (or fully tilt up) if a foreign object gets jammed in the sliding roof during close or tilt down operation.
      Key-off Operation This function enables the sliding roof to be operated within approximately 43 seconds of the engine switch being turned off. However, if either the driver door or front passenger door is opened within this 43 seconds, the power window operation will be disabled. If the sliding roof is currently operating when the 43 seconds have elapsed, the sliding roof will continue to move until it is fully open or closed.
      Transmitter Linked Open* When the main body ECU receives an unlock signal from the key (electronic key) continuously for longer than 2.4 seconds, the sliding roof ECU controls the sliding roof motor in accordance with the signal to open the sliding roof.
      Transmitter Linked Close* When the main body ECU receives a lock signal from the key (electronic key) continuously for longer than 2.4 seconds, the sliding roof ECU controls the sliding roof motor in accordance with the signal to close the sliding roof.
      Lock Switch Linked Close* When the lock switch on the outside door handle is pressed for 3 seconds or more with the key in the detection area and all the doors locked, the sliding roof ECU activates the sliding roof motor to close the sliding roof while the lock switch is pressed.
      Mechanicalkey Linked Open-and-close* When the key (electronic key) is not in the detection area, the driver door is locked, and the key (mechanical key) in the driver door key cylinder is turned and maintained in the lock direction for 1.5 seconds or more, the sliding roof ECU activates the sliding roof motor to close the sliding roof while the key (mechanical key) is turned. Similarly, when the driver door is unlocked, turning and maintaining the key (mechanical key) in the driver door key cylinder in the unlock direction for 1.5 seconds or more will cause the sliding roof to be opened.
      Sliding Roof Open Warning When the engine switch is turned from on (IG) to off and the driver door is opened with the sliding roof open, the buzzer in the combination meter assembly sounds once. Then, a warning message appears on the multi-information display.
