TOYOTA PARKING ASSIST-SENSOR SYSTEM


  1. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS

    Component Function
    Ultrasonic Sensors Detects the distance between the vehicle and the obstacle.
    Clearance Warning Buzzer Sounds a buzzer to inform the driver according to the distance to theobstacle.
    CombinationMeter Transmits the vehicle speed signal to the clearance warning ECU.
    Multi-information Display

    • Displays the location of the obstacle and the approximate distance between the vehicle and the obstacle.

    • Informs the driver if the ultrasonic sensors malfunction, or if they freeze or become dirty.
    Master Warning Light Illuminates when the multi-information display indicates that the ultrasonic sensors are malfunctioning or frozen.
    Multi-display*

    • Displays the location of the obstacle and the approximate distance between the vehicle and the obstacle.

    • The sound volume, distance required to sound the buzzer and distance required to trigger the display can be chosen on the setup screen for the Toyota parking assist-sensor system.
    Clearance Warning ECU Assembly Judges the approximate distance between the vehicle and an obstacle based on signals from the ultrasonic sensors. Output signals are sent to the multi-information display and/or multi-display.
    ECM Transmits the shift position signal to the clearance warning ECU
    Air Conditioning Amplifier Assembly Transmits the outside temperature to the clearance warning ECU.
    Windshield Wiper ECU* Transmits the wiper status signal to the main body ECU.
    Main Body ECU Transmits the wiper status signal and dimmer signal to the clearance warning ECU.
    Back Sonar or Clearance Sonar Switch Operating this switch allows the operation of Toyota parking assist-sensor system to be enabled or disabled.
