BODY STRUCTURE

  1. OUTLINE

    1. Light Weight and Highly Rigid Body

      1. High-tensile strength steel and ultra high-tensile strength steel are used in order to achieve excellent body rigidity and a light weight body.

    2. Safety Features

      1. The impact absorbing structure minimizes cabin deformation by effectively helping to absorb the impact energy in the event of a front, side or rear collision. This provides high performance occupant protection.

    3. Rust-resistant Body

      1. Rust-resistant performance is enhanced by the extensive use of anti-corrosion sheet steel, as well as by an anti-corrosion treatment that includes the application of anti-rust wax, sealer and anti-chipping paint to the easily corroded parts such as the hood and fender.

    4. Low Vibration and Low Noise Body

      1. Effective application of vibration damping and noise suppressant materials reduces engine, wind and road noise.

    5. Aerodynamics

      1. Various types of airflow routing parts that control airflow are provided in order to ensure excellent aerodynamic performance.

    6. Parts with Low Repair Cost

      1. In minor collisions in which no damage is inflicted to the rear bumper reinforcement, repair cost is lowered by minimizing the number of parts that require replacement in order to be reused.

  2. MAIN FEATURES

    1. Exterior Design

      1. Front View

        1. The front fascia features a raised, three-dimensional section from the hood to the center of the front bumper.

        2. Complementing this three-dimensional presence is a wide radiator grille lower and contoured headlights, matched with deeply scalloped front fog light surrounds.

        3. This attractive design forms a unique presence within the compact segment that can appeal to customers downsizing from larger vehicles.

      2. Rear View

        1. Rear combination lights with each illumination function arranged vertically complement the wide back door opening for a unique design.

        2. The rear design brings together the trapezoidal cabin, side profile and character lines to create a low, wide stance. These elements promote the cargo space utility of an MPV but with an appealing personality that does away with the high-riding look.

      3. Side View

        1. The short proportions are given a sleek appearance by a defining single motion that runs all the way from the leading edge of the front pillar to the trailing edge of the roof. This motion makes the cabin appear longer and more spacious.

        2. The character line smoothly flows from front to rear to further emphasize the length of the cabin.

        3. For the side window graphic, the top end of the rear quarter window has been extended rearward. This detail combined with the far-forward placement of the front pillars allows the cabin to appear longer and more spacious.
