SMART ENTRY AND START SYSTEM

    1. The entry and start system has the following main functions, making it a very user-friendly system:

      Function Outline
      Start Function

      The start function is operated by simply pressing the engine switch while carrying the key. When the engine switch is pressed, the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) turns on/off the ACC relay, IG1 relay, and IG2 relay to switch the power source pattern.


      • The power source mode changes depending on depression of the brake pedal*1 or clutch pedal*2 and the shift lever position*1.

      Start Function Engine Immobiliser The engine immobiliser function compares the ID code registered in the ID code box (immobiliser code ECU) with the ID code of the transponder chip embedded in the key.
      Steering Lock The steering lock function is operated to lock and unlock the steering wheel by using a lock/unlock motor in the steering column assembly.
      Cranking Hold Once the engine switch is pushed, this control operates the starter until the engine starts.
      Entry Function

      Entry Unlock:

      The doors unlock if a front door outside handle is gripped.


      • The driver or front passenger door outside handle unlocks the all doors.

      Entry Lock:


      • Touching the lock sensor of a front door outside handle or the lock switch of the back door will cause all doors to lock.

      Entry Function Back Door Open The back door open function can be operated manually by simply pressing the back door opener switch.
      Wireless Door Lock Control The wireless door lock control function is a convenient system for locking and unlocking all the doors and back door at a distance. The basic operation is the same as that of the wireless door lock control system.
