    1. 1NR-FE Engine


      1. The 1NR-FE engine is a 1.3-liter, 16-valve DOHC, in-line 4-cylinder gasoline engine.

      2. This engine uses the Direct Ignition System, dual Variable Valve Timing-intelligent (VVT-i) system and Electronic Throttle Control System-intelligent (ETCS-i). These systems achieve improved engine performance, fuel economy and clean emissions.

    3. 1ND-TV Engine


      1. The 1ND-TV TOYOTA Direct injection 4 stroke common-rail Diesel (D-4D) is an in-line, 4-cylinder, 1.4-litter, 8-valve SOHC turbocharged diesel engine with intercooler.

      2. This engine uses direct injection system and common-rail system to achieve higher performance, good fuel consumption, clean emission, low noise and low vibration.

      3. The engine uses a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) catalytic converter to improve the exhaust gas cleaning performance.

    4. Stop and Start System


      1. The stop and start system* has been developed to achieve low emissions and enhance fuel economy.

      2. The stop and start system* automatically stops the engine when the vehicle comes to a stop, such as when the vehicle stops at a red traffic light. When starting off, the engine is automatically restarted without requiring the driver to do anything extra.

    5. K411 and K312 Continuously Variable Transaxles (CVT)


      1. A K411 CVT is used with the 1NR-FE engine.

      2. A K312 CVT is used with the 1NZ-FE engine.

      3. The K411 and K312 CVTs, including the pair of pulleys and the steel belt in the shift mechanism, are transaxles which steplessly shift from start-up to the maximum speed offering a smooth shift feeling and excellent fuel economy.

    6. EC63, EC65 Manual Transaxles and EC65A Multi-mode Manual Transaxle


      1. An EC63 6-speed manual transaxle is used with the 1NR-FE engine.

      2. An EC65 6-speed manual transaxle is used with the 1ND-TV engine.

      3. An EC65A 6-speed multi-mode manual transaxle is used with the 1ND-TV engine. The multi-mode manual transaxle is a manual transaxle with a clutch actuator and shift and select actuator. Clutch operation and shift and select operation are controlled by the transmission control ECU assembly.
