    1. The transmission control switch is installed inside the transmission floor shift assembly to detect the S mode position and to inform the ECM. The ECM turns on the S mode indicator in the combination meter assembly.

    2. The transmission control switch detects whether the shift lever is in D or S, detects the operating conditions of the shift lever ["+" (forward) or "-" (backward)] when the S mode is selected, and sends signals to the ECM. At this time, the ECM turns on the shift range indicator in the combination meter assembly via CAN for the selected shift range.
