LIGHTING SYSTEM

  1. OUTLINE

    1. Exterior Light

      1. The front lights consist of the following lights:

        A019QWKC01
*1 Side Turn Signal Light *2 Front Turn Signal Light
*3 Clearance Light *4 Headlight (Low Beam)
*5 Headlight (High Beam) *6 Front Fog Light
        *7 Side Step Light - -
*a The side step lights are positioned symmetrically to the right side - -
      2. The rear lights consist of the following lights:

        A019R22C01
*A Models for Europe and China - -
*1 Rear Turn Signal Light *2 Taillight/Stop light
        *3 Back-up Light *4 Rear Fog Light
*5 License Plate Light *6 High Mount Stop Light
    2. Automatic Light Control System

      1. When the light control switch is in the AUTO position, the light control sensor detects the ambient light level and automatically turns the headlights, taillights, clearance lights, and license plate lights on or off accordingly.

    3. Light Automatic Turn-off System

      1. This system automatically turns off the headlights, taillights, and so on when the engine switch is turned off and any of the doors, the back door or glass hatch is closed after being open.

    4. High Intensity Discharge (HID) Headlight System

      1. The HID headlight system uses a discharge bulb as its light source for the low beam. Discharge bulbs have features superior to halogen bulbs.

    5. Automatic Headlight Beam Level Control System

      1. When the headlights are on, the automatic headlight beam level control system operates the headlight leveling motor in accordance with the movement of the vehicle.

    6. Intelligent Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS)

      1. An intelligent AFS is used in order to ensure a wide low beam lighting area and provide excellent visibility during turns by moving the low beam.

  3. PRECAUTION

    1. HID Headlight System

      1. When the HID headlights illuminate, a high voltage (approximately 22000 V) is applied momentarily to the bulb sockets, which could lead to a serious accident. Never connect the tester to the high voltage socket of an HID headlight for measurement, as the high voltage may cause a serious accident.

      2. When inspecting the HID headlight system, in order to prevent electric shocks, make sure that water is not present, the light control switch is off, the battery terminal has been removed, and the connector of the light control ECU has been disconnected.

      3. Operate the HID headlight only after assembly has been properly completed, and never operate without bulbs installed.

      4. Do not operate the HID headlight using a power source other than that of the vehicle.

      5. If there is a defect in the HID headlight or if the headlight has suffered a shock, replace the bulb with a new one.

      6. Discharge bulbs reach high temperatures when illuminated. For this reason, the life of a bulb could be shortened if any oil comes in contact with the glass portion of the bulb. Do not touch the glass portion of a bulb with bare hands.
