OUTLINE
Lightweight and Highly Rigid Body
High-tensile strength steel and ultra high-tensile strength steel are used in order to achieve excellent body rigidity and a lightweight body.
Safety Features
The impact absorbing structure minimizes cabin deformation by effectively helping to absorb the impact energy in the event of a front, side or rear collision. This provides high performance.
Rust-resistant Body
Rust-resistant performance is enhanced by the extensive use of anti-corrosion sheet steel, as well as by an anti-corrosion treatment that includes the application of anti-rust wax, sealer and anti-chipping paint to the easily corroded parts such as the hood and fender.
Low Vibration and Low Noise Body
Effective application of vibration damping and noise suppressant materials reduces engine, wind and road noise.
Aerodynamics
Optimization of the shape of the body and underfloor ensures excellent aerodynamic performance.
Parts with Low Repair Cost
A construction which does not cause damage to the body in low-impact collisions, is used for repair cost reduction.
MAIN FEATURES
Exterior Design
Front View
In a tough design with an intriguing elegance worthy of a genuine Lexus SUV, the cylindrical design runs laterally through the upper section and longitudinally through the bumper section. Thus, the two axes are together to create a powerful three-dimensionality that makes the vehicle seem as though it were sculpted from solid metal.
In addition to the continued use of an intertwined radiator grille and head light design (one of LEXUS's special features), the phase difference of the radiator grille and headlights have been emphasized, thus giving the front design a resolute look.
The hood bulge flows into the outer frame of the grille, encompassing the front of the headlights to pursue a uniquely individual appearance. With fewer lateral bars, the grille presents a robust design with a tough appearance. The expressive surfaces have been planed, adding a subtlety to the resulting open sections that presents a tough yet fresh intriguing elegance.
The separation of the low beam from the rectangle structure of the headlights and the intertwining of the high beam and turn signal lights in the extension makes the customary SUV-functionality apparent for all to see.
A balance between dynamism and a feeling of width is achieved by positioning the horizontal bumper grille and the front fog lights between the upper bumper and the projecting lower bumper.
Rear View
The shape of the rear bumper evokes the image of an undergrad, enveloping the laterally shaved design of the upper surface to give a dynamic impression and sleekness, which embellishes the genuine SUV styling with a Lexus touch.
For the rear garnish, chrome-plated bars enclose the license plate from above and below to give the housing an innovative three-dimensional design, expressing a tough appearance. The chrome-plated section of the rear garnish, with its outwardly expanding design, adds a feeling of width to the tall SUV silhouette.
In the rear combination lights, the boundary of the turn signal light features a line which slopes upward toward the outside, thus reflecting the LEXUS symbol. Horizontal based divisions are used for the extension to express stability.

Side View
Integrated into the body, which lies along a horizontal axis, the solid design of the front and rear fenders form a slight wedge-shape from the wheels toward the rear of the vehicle, presenting a modern dynamic.
The shaved-off design of the fenders start further back than the flares below them, endowing the fender tops with a more compact appearance that expresses the agility of a genuine SUV.
