  1. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS

    Component Function
    Deicer Switch*1 Operates the windshield deicer system.
    Deicer and Defroster Switch*2 Operates the windshield deicer system and heated windshield defroster system.
    Air Conditioning Amplifier Assembly

    • Operates and controls the windshield deicer system in accordance with the signals from the deicer switch.*1

    • Operates and controls the heated windshield defroster system in accordance with the signals from the deicer and defroster switch.*2
    Windshield Deicer Wire*1 Applies electrical current to a windshield deicer wire in the windshield glass to generate heat and remove ice from the windshield glass.
    Heated Windshield Defroster Wire*2 Applies electrical current to a heated windshield defroster wire in the windshield glass to generate heat and remove ice from the windshield glass.

  2. SYSTEM COTNROL


    1. The windshield deicer system is activated when the engine switch is turned on (IG) and the deicer switch is pushed. The air conditioning amplifier assembly keeps the front wiper deicer on for approximately 15 minutes.*

    2. The heated windshield defroster system is activated when the engine switch is turned on (IG) and the deicer and defroster switch is pushed. The air conditioning amplifier assembly performs timer control of the heated windshield defroster system in accordance with the ambient temperature as follows.*

      Tech Tips

      The maximum possible operation time is used for timer control. (Example: when the ambient temperature is -19°C, the operation time will be 840 seconds.)
