FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS
The window defogger system consists of the following parts:
| Component | Function |
|---|---|
| Rear Window Defogger Switch | Pressing this switch inputs rear window defogger operation signal into the air conditioning amplifier assembly. |
| Air Conditioning Amplifier Assembly | Operates and controls the window defogger system in accordance with the signals from the rear defogger switch. |
| Integration Relay | Supplies the drive current to the rear window defogger via the on/off control of the air conditioning amplifier assembly. |
| Rear Window Defogger | Applies electrical current to a defogger wire installed in the back door glass to remove fogging from the back door glass. |
OPERATING CONDITION
Window Defogger System
When the power switch is turned on, and the rear window defogger switch is pushed, this system is activated to keep the defogger heater on for approximately 15 minutes.
CONSTRUCTION
Solar Roof Glass
By the parallel arrangement of 36 solar cells which produce electric power from sunlight. Approximately 59W can be output when the element temperature is 77°F (25°C) and sunlight is 1000W/m2(radiation quantity reaching the ground surface on average sunny days.)

Tech Tips
A solar cell is a kind of semiconductor device made of multi-crystal silicon, which converts light energy directly into electric power. When a solar cell comprising of N-type and P-type semiconductors is radiated by sunlight, free electrons (minus) and electron holes (plus) are generated in the solar cell. The free electrons (minus) are gathered by the N-type semiconductor and the electron holes (plus) are gathered by the P-type semiconductor, thus generating electric potential. The power can be obtained by connecting an electric wire to the electric poles.
