  3. MAIN FEATURES

    1. The air conditioning system used on new models has the following features:

      High Performance
      • Neural network control is used so passengers can control the air conditioning accurately for maximum comfort.

      • A pollen removal type clean air filter is used as the clean air filter.

      • Micro dust pollen filter mode control is used to remove pollen in the area around the upper part of the bodies of the driver and front passenger.

      • The blower control has 7 levels in manual mode and 31 levels in auto mode for more precise control.

      • The touch tracer display that shows the steering pad switch operations on the combination meter has been provided. This helps reduce the movement of the driver's line of vision, allowing the driver to concentrate on the road. For details on the touch tracer display, see meter / gauge system.

      • The solar ventilation system operates the blower with fan motor sub-assembly by using power generated by the rear glass panel which is mounted on the roof, and discharges high temperature air in the cabin outside the vehicle. The remote air conditioning system drives the electric inverter compressor by a remote operation immediately before getting in the vehicle and activates the air conditioning system. Thus, these systems help support the cooling systems and reduce the heat.

      • The ejector cycle system is used in the refrigerant cycle, increasing energy consumption efficiency and cooling performance.

      • The PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) heater system is used. This system contains a PTC heater that heats the air that has passed through the heater radiator unit sub-assembly to ensure proper heater performance.

      • An exhaust heat recirculation system is used to improve the heating performance at low temperatures. For details about the exhaust heat recirculation system, see the exhaust system section.

Lightweight A Bus connector with a built-in IC is used in a lightweight wire harness design with a reduced number of wires. The use of this connector means that pulse pattern type servo motors are used.
      Compact
      • A semi-center location air conditioning unit in which the cooler evaporator sub-assembly and heater radiator unit sub-assembly are placed in the vehicle's longitudinal direction is used.

      • A blower motor with a built-in blower motor controller is used in a compact construction.

      • An ejector is placed in the cooler evaporator sub-assembly, thus allowing the ejector cycle to operate in a space equivalent to the conventional.

      Others
      • The following parts are used to ensure high cooling or heating performance while realizing a compact and lightweight construction.

        • ES14 type electric inverter compressor

        • ECS (Ejector Cycle System) type cooler evaporator sub-assembly

        • SFA (Straight Flow Aluminum)-II type heater radiator unit sub-assembly

        • MF (Multi-Flow)-IV type w/receiver condenser assembly

  4. PRECAUTION

    1. Solar Ventilation System

      1. Turn off the ventilation switch when the ventilation is not required.

        • When the ventilation switch is turned on, exhaust emissions from other vehicles and polluted outside air may enter in the cabin. In addition, the ventilation system may work depending on solar radiation conditions even when the outside temperature is low, and the warm air in the cabin may discharged outside of the vehicle and the room temperature may lower.

      2. Remove fallen leaves and dirt from the system to maintain the power generated by the rear glass panel.

        • If shadows from buildings or electric poles partially fall on the rear glass panel, or fallen leaves or dirt are adhered thereto, power may not be generated properly by the cells.

      3. Do not use the system while the vehicle is occupied.

        • The solar ventilation system does not ensure cooling. If the air temperature in the cabin stays high, it may cause heat stroke and dehydration or death in the worst scenario.

    2. Remote Air Conditioning System

      1. Turn the wiper switch off.

        • If the remote air conditioning system is activated while the wiper switch is turned on, the wiper system starts to operate, potentially causing people near the vehicle to be touched by or caught in the wiper blade.

      2. Turn the headlight dimmer switch to off or auto*.

        • When the system is used at night, the headlights illuminate while the remote air conditioning system is operating, and this may cause a nuisance to residents.

      3. Do not use the system while the vehicle is occupied.

        • Even if the remote air conditioning system is used, the air temperature in the cabin is kept high by the automatic stop function, and this may cause heat stroke and dehydration or death in the worst scenario.

*: Models equipped with the automatic light control system
