AIRBAG SYSTEM GENERAL


  1. OUTLINE


    1. The SRS driver airbag and the SRS front passenger airbag are used as supplements to the seat belts to help to reduce the shocks to the head and chest of the driver or front passenger in the event of a front impact collision.

    2. The SRS driver knee airbag is used as a supplement to the seat belt to restrain the lower body of the driver in the event of a front impact collision.

    3. The SRS side airbags are used in the event of a side impact collision to help to reduce the shock to the chest of the driver or front passenger.

    4. The SRS curtain shield airbags are used in the event of a side or side rear impact collision to help to reduce the shock to the head of the driver, front passenger and rear passengers.

    5. An airbag cut-off switch, with which the deployment of the SRS front passenger airbag can be turned on or off manually, has been provided.*

    6. If any of the airbags have been deployed, the airbag sensor assembly transmits an airbag deployment signal to the power management control ECU.
