POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM DETAILS


  1. FUNCTION


    1. The power door lock control system has the following functions:

    Function Outline
    Manual Lock and Unlock This function can lock or unlock all the doors by the door lock switch operation.
    Key-linked Lock and Unlock*2 This function which is linked with the door key cylinder can lock or unlock all the doors when a lock or unlock operation is effected.
    Manual Unlock Prohibition Performing the door lock operation with a mechanical key or LOCK button on the key will prohibit the unlock operation by the door lock switch.
    Double Locking System*1

    • The double locking system also prevents the doors from being opened through the operation of the inside door knobs. Thus, the doors cannot be opened either from the inside or the outside of the vehicle.

    • To lock the doors with this system, pressing the LOCK button on the key, then pressing it again within 5 seconds activates the double locking system. However, as an emergency unlocking maneuver, only the driver's door can be unlocked with a key.

    Note

    Never activate the double locking system when there are people in the vehicle because the doors cannot be opened from the inside of the vehicle. If locking the doors by accident, press the UNLOCK button of the key.
    Electrical Back Door Outside Handle System When the driver door is unlocked, the back door is closed and the vehicle speed is approximately 5 km/h (3 mph) or less, the latch on the back door can be released by operating the back door opener switch.

    Tech Tips

    *2: On the models with the double locking system, when the double locking system is operating, all the doors can be locked through the key-linked function, but they cannot be unlocked. Only the driver's door can be unlocked by the key.
