FUNCTION
Steering Lock ECU
The steering lock ECU is integrated in the steering lock actuator assembly, and it controls the lock bar operation through the control of lock/unlock motor.
The steering lock ECU detects the lock bar position and sends this information to the power management control ECU*1 or power source control ECU*2.
In this system, the certification ECU determines whether to lock or unlock the steering wheel based on the engine switch operation. Then, the certification ECU transmits the lock or unlock command signals to the steering lock ECU through the immobiliser code ECU. Upon receiving the signals, the steering lock ECU operates the lock/unlock motor to lock or unlock the steering wheel.
