BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM GENERAL


  1. OUTLINE


    1. The brake control functions (ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, TRC, VSC and VSC+) are provided.

    2. The VSC+ that performs the cooperative control with the EPS is used.

    3. A VSC OFF switch has been provided to disable the TRC and VSC functions.

  2. PRECAUTION


    1. When brake control system is activated, the brake pedal could shudder, which is a normal occurrence of the system in operation and should not be considered as a malfunction.

    2. The TRC and VSC functions control brake hydraulic pressure and engine output to ensure vehicle stability. Therefore, operate the VSC OFF switch (stop the operation of the TRC and VSC functions) only when it is necessary.

    1. VSC+ (Cooperative Control with EPS)


      1. In the past, the brake control functions (ABS, TRC, VSC) and the EPS (Electronic Power Steering) were controlled individually. In contrast, the new model uses a VSC+, which uses a cooperative control with EPS. This system effects a control integrated the brake control functions and the EPS in accordance with driving conditions. Thus, it realizes the dynamic performance of the vehicle to "run, turn and stop" and ensures excellent driving stability and drivability.
