REAR SUSPENSION SYSTEM DETAILS

  1. CONSTRUCTION

    1. Suspension Upper Support, Rear Coil Spring, and Rear Shock Absorber Assembly

      1. The suspension upper support structure allows the vehicle body panel to be located between the rubber cushions.

      2. The rear coil spring is offset mounted relative to the trailing arm to achieve the low vehicle floor, and the spring constant has been optimized to ensure excellent ride comfort. Also, the diameter of the spring ends has been reduced to ensure sufficient wheel stroke.

      3. The low-pressure gas (N2) sealed rear shock absorber assembly delivers stable damping force characteristics, providing excellent maneuverability and ride comfort.

    2. Axle Beam and Trailing Arm

      1. To optimize the toe and camber change during tramping, the cross section of the axle beam has been changed to an opposite U-shape. Also, the axle beam is manufactured by pipe extrusion, by which a stabilizer function can be provided, thus securing a high rolling stiffness.

      2. A compact, highly rigid and hollow type trailing arm is used. The trailing arm is obliquely fitted to the vehicle body via a trailing arm bush.
