BODY STRUCTURE GENERAL

  1. OUTLINE

    1. Light Weight and Highly Rigid Body

      1. A highly rigid yet lightweight vehicle body has been created by considerable use of high strength sheet steel, optimization of the frame joint structure and optimal positioning of the reinforcement member.

    2. Safety Features

      1. The body frame structure has been optimized and the engine and tires have been optimally mounted to dissipate impact loads into as many areas as possible and minimize cabin deformation in the event of a collision, thus ensuring top-class impact safety performance in same class.

    3. Rust-resistant Body

      1. Rust-resistant performance is enhanced extensive use of anti-corrosion sheet steel, as well as by an anti-corrosion treatment that includes the application of anti-rust wax, sealer and anti-chipping paint to easily corroded parts such as the hood and rocker panel.

    4. Low Vibration and Low Noise Body

      1. Effective application of vibration damping and noise suppressant materials reduces engine, wind and road noise.

    5. Aerodynamics

      1. By minimizing the offset among body parts, optimizing the surface shapes and using various aero parts, aerodynamic performance has been improved, and this has ensured the fuel economy and driving stability.

    6. Parts with Low Repair Cost

      1. The bumper reinforcement and bumper arm structures have been optimized, and a bolted-joint is used between the bumper arm and the body and among the radiator support components, thus reducing the repair cost in case of a minor collision.

  2. MAIN FEATURES

    1. Exterior Design (Front and Side View)

      1. A wide and stable front body with short overall length creates the unique shape of the vehicle, instead of breaking away from the conventional horizontal and vertical length ratio of the vehicle. Furthermore, large-diameter wheels are set as far out to the front corners as possible, offering a dynamic yet stable appearance, in spite of the size of the vehicle. Particularly, a combination of the extremely short overhang and protruding wheel flares accentuate driving, and create a well-balanced shape for the vehicle.

    2. Exterior Design (Rear View)

      1. The wheel arches which seem to firmly grasp the ground and the wide bumper create a powerful look. The formative beauty of nature is reflected in the rear bumper and pillar, offering a novel feeling.
