OUTLINE
The entry and start system has the following main functions, making it a very user-friendly system.

| Start Function | The start function is operated by simply pressing the engine switch while carrying the key. When the engine switch is pressed, the power management control ECU*1 or power source control ECU*2 turns on/off the ACC relay, IG1 relay, IG2 relay, and ST relay to switch the power source pattern.

| Start Function | Engine Immobiliser | Engine immobiliser function compares the ID code that is registered in the Immobiliser Code ECU with the ID code of the transponder chip that is embedded in the key. |
| Steering Lock | Steering lock function is operated to lock and unlock the steering wheel by using a lock/unlock motor in steering column assembly. | |
| Entry Function | [Entry Unlock] The doors are unlocked when the door outside handle is held while the user is carrying the key. [Entry Lock] The doors are locked when either the lock sensor on the door outside handle is touched or the back door lock switch on the back outside handle is pressed, while the user is carrying the key. |

PRECAUTION
Entry Unlock
If the door outside handle is not touched properly or is held immediately after the user enters the exterior actuation area, the doors may not be unlocked. In such cases, the hand must be released from the outside handle and the handle must be held again.
If the user is wearing gloves when they touch the door outside handle, the doors may not be unlocked.
Entry Lock
If the doors cannot be locked by touching the door lock sensor located on the upper portion of the door outside handle, they can be locked by simultaneously touching the door lock sensors located on the upper and lower portions of the door outside handle.
If the user is wearing gloves when they touch the door lock sensor, the doors may not be locked.
If the user washes the vehicle while carrying the key and water is sprayed onto the door outside handle, the doors may be locked and unlocked repeatedly. In such cases, the key must be placed at least 2 m (6.56 ft.) apart from the vehicle.
If the vehicle is washed using a washing machine and water is sprayed onto the door outside handle with the key in the cabin, the wireless door lock buzzer may sound. In such cases, the doors must be locked to stop the buzzer.
If ice, snow or mud is adhered to the surface of the door lock sensor, the sensor may not operate properly.
If nails come into contact with the door when the door lock sensor is touched, attention should be paid not to scratch the door or damage the nails.
