  1. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS

    Component Function
    Navigation Receiver Assembly Receives and processes the data that is input from various components, displays various pieces of information and operating conditions on the screen, and provides voice guidance.
    Navigation Antenna Assembly Receives signals from the GPS satellites and transmits them to the navigation receiver assembly.
    Combination Meter Assembly Transmits vehicle speed signals to the navigation receiver assembly.
    Steering Pad Switch Enables the driver to operate the navigation system.
    Microphone Assembly Transmits voice signals to the navigation receiver assembly.
    Back-up Light Switch Assembly*1 Transmits the on/off signals of the back-up light switch assembly to the navigation receiver assembly.
    Park/Neutral Position Switch Assembly*2 Transmits the R position signal to the navigation receiver assembly.

  2. FUNCTION

    1. The main functions of the navigation system are shown below:

      Function Outline
      Navigation Screen Through the use of the GPS and map data which is stored on an HDD or SD, the navigation system analyzes the position of the vehicle and indicates that position on the map displayed on this screen.
      Maintenance Information

      Can be used to inform the driver of inspection or replacement timing of the following items based on the calendar function and vehicle speed signal:

      • Engine oil: Replace engine oil

      • Oil filter: Replace engine oil filter

      • Rotation: Rotate tires

      • Tire: Replace tires

      • Battery: Replace battery

      • Brake pad: Replace brake linings

      • Wiper: Replace wiper blades

      • LLC: Replace engine coolant

      • Brake oil: Replace brake fluid

      • ATF: Replace ATF

      • Service: Scheduled maintenance

      • Air filter: Replace air filter

      • Personal: New information items can be created separately from provided ones.

      Screen Adjustment
      • The brightness or contrast*1 of the screen can be adjusted to suit the brightness of surroundings.

      • When the taillights are turned on, the user can select whether to display the map in the day mode or night mode.

      Help Screen Shows the command list and operation guide.
      Speech Command*1 Operates the navigation system by voice recognition.
      Calendar with Memo The user can enter memos for particular dates on the calendar.
      Settings Select Language for Guidance The user can select the language used for the touch-screen buttons, pop-up messages and voice guidance.
      Select Language for Voice Recognition*1 The user can select the language used for the voice recognition.
      Beep Setting The user can select whether to turn the beep sound on or off.
      Screen Setting
      • Automatic transition: Automatic return from the audio screen to the navigation screen can be enabled.

      • Switch color: The user can select the color of the touch-screen buttons.*2

      • Line color: The user can select the line color.*1

      Keyboard Layout Setting The user can select the keyboard layout.
      Unit of Measurement Setting The user can select the distance unit.
      Delete Personal Data

      The following personal data can be deleted or returned to their default settings:

      • Maintenance conditions

      • Maintenance information "off" setting

      • Memory points

      • Areas to avoid

      • Previous points

      • Route guidance*1

      • Route trace

      • Telephone setting*1

      • Phone book data

      • Dialed numbers and received calls

      • Speed dial

      • Bluetooth phone data

      • Security code

      • Audio setting*1

      • Bluetooth audio setting*1

      • Tracks recorded in the hard disc drive*1

      • User selection setting*2

      Clock Setting
      • Time zone: The user can select a time zone.

      • Daylight saving time: The user can select whether or not to use daylight saving time.

      Settings Voice Setting
      • Voice volume: The user can select voice guidance volume.

      • Voice recognition guidance: The user can turn the voice recognition talkback on or off.*1

      • Voice guidance in all modes: The user can turn the voice guidance of the audio system on or off.

      • Auto voice guidance: The user can turn the voice guidance during route guidance on or off.

      • Adaptive volume control: The user can turn the adaptive volume control on or off.*2

      Navigation Setting
      • Memory point: The user can register, edit or delete the memory point.

      • Home: The user can register or delete the home.

      • Area to avoid: The user can register, edit or delete the area to avoid.

      • Previous points: The user can delete the previous destination.

      • Average speed: The user can set the speed that is used for the calculation of the estimated travel time and the estimated arrival time.

      • Screen layout function: The user can display or hide each touch screen button and current street name on the map display.

      • POI category change: The user can change the POI category to be displayed on the map display.

      • 3D landmark: The user can select whether or not to display landmarks in 3D.

      • Traffic notification: The user can select whether or not to display traffic restrictions and seasonally restricted roads.

      • Pop-up message: The user can select whether or not to display pop-up messages.

      • Current position calibration: The user can manually adjust the current vehicle position mark.

      • Tire change calibration: The user can adjust the miscalculation of the distance caused by tire replacement.

      Vehicle Setting
      • Maintenance information setting: The user can select whether or not to use maintenance information. In addition, the user can delete or reset all the conditions.

      • Dealer setting: The user can register a dealer.

      Traffic Setting
      • Voice guidance: The user can turn the voice guidance for traffic information on or off.

      • Show traffic info: The user can select the traffic information icons to display on the map display.

      • Auto avoid traffic: The user can select the detour function from automatic search, manual search or no search.

      • Select traffic station: The user can select automatic search or manual search.

      Select User*2 Enables the setting of up to 3 users. Also enables the registration of individual settings for the respective users.
      Service Check Screen This screen appears to allow the user to check the functions.

    2. Navigation Screen Function

      1. The navigation screen consists of the following functions:

        Item Function
        Map Display Current Position When the navigation system starts, the current position is displayed first.
        On-route Scroll Scrolls the center of the cursor forward and backward constantly along the route.
        One-touch Scroll Enables smooth scrolling by connecting the touch points on the screen.
        Information of Icons Displays the information of the icons when the user places the cursor over the icons on the map and presses the info button.
        2D Map/3D Map Switches the screen between 2D and 3D views.
        Split-view Display

        Displays different modes on the screen that is split into 2 views.

        • This function also supports the 3D view.*1

        Compass Mode Displays the direction of travel and detailed data of the present location.
        Multi-step Scale Change Changes the map scale in steps, in a range between 50 m (50 yards) and 500 km (300 miles).
        Stepless Scale Display The user can press and hold the zoom in or zoom out button to change the map scale smoothly.
        Direct Scale Change The user can touch the map scale bar directly to change the map scale.
        North-up Screen/Heading-up Screen The user can select the north-up screen or the heading-up screen as desired.
        Taillight-interlocked Map Color Change Changes the color on the map screen that is displayed when the taillights are turned on.
        Information on Map Display

        The map display shows various pieces of information in accordance with the functions that are used.

        • Road sign board

        • Town name

        • Street name

        • Icons and so on

        Traffic Information The user can use the traffic information obtained from the Radio Data System - Traffic Message Channel (RDS-TMC).
        Destination Search By Home Searches for a destination by touching the home button.
        By Quick Access Searches for a destination by selecting the quick access point.
        By Address Searches for a destination by inputting or selecting a street name and a town name.
        By Point of Interest (POI) Searches for a destination by inputting or selecting the POI.
        By POI Near Cursor Searches for a destination by selecting the search point and the POI category.
        By Map Searches for a destination by touching the location on the displayed map.
        By Memory Searches for a destination by selecting the memory point.
        By Previous Searches for a desired destination from a selection of previously set destinations and starting points.
        By Intersection Searches for a destination by inputting or selecting the intersection.
        By Motorway Entrance/Exit*1 Searches for a destination by inputting or selecting the motorway and the motorway entrance/exit.
        By Coordinates Searches for a destination by inputting the latitude and the longitude.
        By Telephone Number Searches for a destination by inputting the telephone number.
        By UK Postal Code Searches for a destination through the input of a UK postal code. The postal code search is valid only for postal codes in the UK.
        Route Guidance Multiple Destination Setting

        Sets multiple destinations.

        • Adding destination: Enables a new destination to be added before and after the destination that is set.

        • Reordering destination: Enables the reordering of the arrival order of the multiple destinations that are set.

        • Deleting destination: Enables the deletion of a destination.

        Road Preference

        Determines whether to approve the use of the following items on the way to the destination:

        • Time necessary for the entire trip

        • Distance of the entire trip

        • Toll road

        • Motorway

        • Ferry

        • Car train

        3 Route Selection Searches for the recommended, shortest, and other routes.
        Avoidance Area Searches for a route that avoids a designated area.
        Suspending and Resuming Guidance Suspends or resumes the route guidance.
        During Motorway Driving Displays the distance to the next exit and junction, or POI in the vicinity of the motorway exit.
        Approaching Motorway Exit or Junction Displays the guidance screen of the motorway exit or junction.
        Approaching Intersection Displays the guidance screen of the intersection.
        Turn List Screen Displays the list of turns on the guidance route.
        Arrow Screen Displays the information about next turns on the guidance route.
        Voice Guidance

        During the route guidance, voice guidance is provided to suit the conditions.

        • Right/left turn guidance

        • U-turn guidance

        • Road branching guidance

        • Destination approach/arrival guidance and so on

        Distance and Time to Destination Displays the distance and estimated travel/arrival time to the destination.
        Search Condition Displays the road conditions of the route to the destination.
        Detour Setting While the route guidance is operating, the user can change the route to detour around a section of the route where a delay is caused by road repairs or an accident etc.
        Route Overview Displays the entire route from the current position to the destination.
        Route Trace The navigation system can store the traveled route up to 200 km (124 mph) and retrace the route on the screen.
        Display POI Icons The user can select the POI icons that appear on the map.
        Starting Route from Adjacent Road*2 The user can start the route guidance from the adjacent road.
        Adaptive Volume Control*2 The volume is turned up automatically when the vehicle speed is 80 km/h (50 mph) or more.
        Others Speech Command*1 Enables the user to operate the navigation system through the voice recognition function.
        Help Screen This function explains to the user what operation can be performed when a "?" on the display is pushed.
