BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM GENERAL

  1. OUTLINE

    1. The following brake control functions are provided: Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD), brake assist, Traction Control (TRC), Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and cooperative control with Electric Power Steering (EPS). For details of brake control function settings, see Equipment in Introduction.

  2. PRECAUTION

    1. When the brake control system is activated, the brake pedal could shudder, which is a normal occurrence of the system in operation and should not be considered a malfunction.

    2. The TRC and VSC functions control brake hydraulic pressure and engine output to ensure vehicle stability. Therefore, the VSC OFF switch (which stops the operation of the TRC and VSC functions) should be operated only when it is necessary.
