LUBRICATION SYSTEM GENERAL


  1. OUTLINE


    1. The lubrication circuit is fully pressurized and all oil passes through an oil cooler and oil filter.

    2. A trochoid oil pump driven by a gear engaged with the crankshaft is used.

    3. A water-cooled type engine oil cooler is enclosed in the cylinder block.

    4. Piston oil jets that lubricate and cool the pistons are provided.

  2. MAJOR DIFFERENCE


    1. The major differences between the 1KD-FTV engine mounted in the previous Dyna 100/150 and the 1KD-FTV in the new Dyna 100/150 European models are as follows.


      1. Electric Variable Oil Pressure Type Oil Pump


        • An oil pressure switching valve has been added.

        • In order to reduce energy loss caused by oil pump actuation and to improve the fuel efficiency, an electric variable oil pressure type oil pump, which can control the pressure of the engine oil to 2 levels in accordance with driving conditions, has been provided.

        • The electric variable oil pressure type oil pump consists of a cycloidal gear type oil pump, relief valve with built-in sleeve valve, oil pressure switching valve (OSV) and check valve.
