COOLING SYSTEM GENERAL


  1. OUTLINE


    1. The cooling system is a pressurized, forced-circulation type.

    2. A thermostat with a bypass valve is located on the water inlet housing to maintain suitable temperature distribution in the cooling system.

    3. The radiator core is made of aluminum for lightweight.

    4. EGR cooler to cool down intake air temperature during EGR operation is used.

    5. The TOYOTA genuine Super Long Life Coolant (SLLC) is used.

  2. MAJOR DIFFERENCE


    1. The major differences between the 1KD-FTV engine mounted in the previous Dyna 100/150 and the 1KD-FTV in the new Dyna 100/150 European models are as follows.


      1. With the use of a compact turbocharger and a large capacity EGR cooler, and the abolishment of the water-cooled type fuel cooler, etc., the coolant route has been changed. There have been no changes to the TOYOTA genuine Super Long Life Coolant (SLLC) capacity or the maintenance intervals.

      • SLLC is pre-mixed (50 % coolant and 50 % deionized water). Therefore, no dilution is needed when SLLC in the vehicle is added or replaced.
