FUNCTION

The theft deterrent system has the following functions:

Function	Outline
Alarm	When the theft deterrent system switches to the alarm state, the warning items are operated and the alarm sounds for approximately 27.5 seconds.
Alarm Indicator	When the theft deterrent system switches to the armed preparation state or alarm state, the security indicator light is illuminated to inform the user. This indicator is also the engine immobiliser indicator, which blinks when the engine immobiliser is in the set state.
Forced Door Lock	The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) transmits a door lock signal to all the doors when all the following conditions are met: The theft deterrent system is in the alarm state. The door control transmitter assembly is not in the ignition or starter switch assembly.1 There is no electrical key transmitter sub-assembly in the actuation area.2 One of the doors has been unlocked. The function stops when one of the following conditions is met: All doors are locked. The warning ends after approximately 27.5 seconds. The electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is in the actuation area.*2

Alarm

When the theft deterrent system switches to the alarm state, the warning items are operated and the alarm sounds for approximately 27.5 seconds.

Alarm Indicator

When the theft deterrent system switches to the armed preparation state or alarm state, the security indicator light is illuminated to inform the user. This indicator is also the engine immobiliser indicator, which blinks when the engine immobiliser is in the set state.

Forced Door Lock

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) transmits a door lock signal to all the doors when all the following conditions are met:

The theft deterrent system is in the alarm state.
The door control transmitter assembly is not in the ignition or starter switch assembly.*1
There is no electrical key transmitter sub-assembly in the actuation area.*2
One of the doors has been unlocked.

The function stops when one of the following conditions is met:

All doors are locked.
The warning ends after approximately 27.5 seconds.
The electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is in the actuation area.*2

OPERATION

The states of the theft deterrent system are as follows:

Armed Preparation State	This is the preparation state before the theft deterrent system becomes active (enters the armed state) when the system has been set by the user.	Not possible

The theft deterrent system activates as shown in the diagram above when one of the items in the table occurs in order to cause the system to enter the respective state.

Condition [1]	In disarmed state 1, when the ignition switch is off, the system state is switched if the following condition is met: With all doors, the engine hood and luggage compartment door closed, all doors are locked by wireless operation, the smart entry and start system or key linked power door lock operation. In disarmed state 1, when the ignition switch is off, the engine hood and luggage compartment door are closed, and all doors are locked, the system state is switched if the following condition is met: All doors are closed when any door is opened.
Condition [2]	Allow approx. 30 seconds to elapse.
Condition [3]	All doors are unlocked by wireless operation, the smart entry and start system or key linked power door lock operation. Any door is unlocked. Any door is opened. The ignition switch is turned to ACC or ON. The battery is reconnected.
Condition [4]	The engine hood is opened when the engine hood is closed. The luggage compartment door is opened when the luggage compartment door is closed. The battery is reconnected. Any door is opened when all doors are closed. Any door is unlocked when all doors are locked. When 5 seconds or more have elapsed after the ignition switch is turned off, the ignition switch is turned to ON.
Condition [5]	The ignition switch is turned to ON and the engine is run for more than 2 seconds. All doors are unlocked by wireless operation, the smart entry and start system or key linked power door lock operation. The ignition switch is turned to ACC or ON within 5 seconds after the ignition switch was turned off.
Condition [6]	After approx. 27.5 seconds, alarm stops and system returns to armed state.
Condition [7]	The luggage compartment door is opened by wireless operation or the smart entry and start system.
Condition [8]	The luggage compartment door is closed when the engine hood is closed. The engine hood is closed when the luggage compartment door is closed.
Condition [9]	Any door is unlocked when all doors are locked. Any door is opened. The ignition switch is turned to ACC or ON. The battery is reconnected. All doors are unlocked by wireless operation, the smart entry and start system or key linked power door lock operation.
Condition [10]	In disarmed state 1, when the ignition switch is off, the system state is switched if the following condition is met: With all doors closed, and the engine hood and luggage compartment door opened, all doors are locked by wireless operation, the smart entry and start system or key linked power door lock operation. In disarmed state 1, when the ignition switch is off, all doors are locked, the engine hood and luggage compartment door are open, the system state is switched if the following condition is met: All doors are closed when any door is opened.
Condition [11]	The engine hood is opened. The luggage compartment door is opened. The luggage compartment door is opened by wireless operation or the smart entry and start system.

Condition [6]	After approx. 27.5 seconds, alarm stops and system returns to armed state.
Condition [7]	The luggage compartment door is opened by wireless operation.
Condition [8]	The luggage compartment door is closed when the engine hood is closed. The engine hood is closed when the luggage compartment door is closed.
