  1. FUNCTION


    1. The theft deterrent system has the following functions:

      Function Outline
      Alarm When the theft deterrent system switches to the alarm state, the warning items are operated and the alarm sounds for approximately 27.5 seconds.
      Alarm Indicator When the theft deterrent system switches to the armed preparation state or alarm state, the security indicator light is illuminated to inform the user. This indicator is also the engine immobiliser indicator, which blinks when the engine immobiliser is in the set state.
      Forced Door Lock

      The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) transmits a door lock signal to all the doors when all the following conditions are met:


      • The theft deterrent system is in the alarm state.

      • The door control transmitter assembly is not in the ignition or starter switch assembly.*1

      • There is no electrical key transmitter sub-assembly in the actuation area.*2

      • One of the doors has been unlocked.

      The function stops when one of the following conditions is met:


      • All doors are locked.

      • The warning ends after approximately 27.5 seconds.

      • The electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is in the actuation area.*2

      *2: Models with smart entry and start system

  2. OPERATION


    1. The states of the theft deterrent system are as follows:

      State Description Theft Detection
      Disarmed State The theft deterrent system has not been set by the user. Not possible
      Armed Preparation State This is the preparation state before the theft deterrent system becomes active (enters the armed state) when the system has been set by the user. Not possible
      Armed State The theft deterrent system is active. (Theft can be detected.) Possible
      Alarm State A theft attempt has been detected and the warning operation activates. Possible

    2. The theft deterrent system activates as shown in the diagram above when one of the items in the table occurs in order to cause the system to enter the respective state.

      Models with Wireless Door Lock Buzzer Answer Back Function and Smart Entry and Start System
      Condition Item
      (1)

      In disarmed state 1, when the engine switch is off, the system state is switched if the following condition is met:


      • With the doors, the engine hood and luggage compartment door closed, all doors are locked by wireless operation, the smart entry and start system or key linked power door lock operation.

      In disarmed state 1, when the engine switch is off, the engine hood and luggage compartment door are closed, and all doors are locked, the system state is switched if the following condition is met:


      • All doors are closed (when any door was previously opened).

      (2) 30 seconds elapse.

      • The doors are unlocked by wireless operation, the smart entry and start system or key linked power door lock operation.

      • Any door is unlocked.

      • Any door is opened.

      • The engine switch is pushed.

      • The battery is reconnected.

      • The engine hood is opened.

      • The luggage compartment door is opened.

      • The battery is reconnected.

      • Any door is opened.

      • Any door is unlocked.

      • When 5 seconds or more have elapsed after the engine switch is pushed, the power source mode changes to on (IG).

      • The power source mode is turned to on (IG) and the engine is running for more than 2 seconds.

      • All doors are unlocked by wireless operation, the smart entry and start system or key linked power door lock operation.

      • The power source mode changes to on (ACC) or on (IG) within 5 seconds after the engine switch is pushed.

      (6) After approximately 27.5 seconds, the alarm stops and the system returns to the armed state.
      (7) The luggage compartment door is opened by wireless operation or the smart entry and start system.

      • The luggage compartment door is open → closed (the engine hood is already closed).

      • The engine hood is open → closed (the luggage compartment door is already closed).

      • Any door is unlocked.

      • Any door is opened.

      • The engine switch is pushed.

      • The battery is reconnected.

      • All doors are unlocked by wireless operation, the smart entry and start system or key linked power door lock operation.

      • The power source mode changes to on (ACC) or on (IG).

      In disarmed state 1, when the engine switch is off, the system state is switched if the following condition is met:


      • With all doors closed, and the engine hood and luggage compartment door opened, all doors are locked by wireless operation, the smart entry and start system or key linked power door lock operation.

      In disarmed state 1, when the engine switch is off, all doors are locked and the engine hood and luggage compartment door are open, the system state is switched if the following condition is met:


      • All doors are closed (when any door was previously opened).

      • The engine hood is opened.

      • The luggage compartment door is opened.

      • The luggage compartment door is opened by wireless operation or the smart entry and start system.

      Models with Wireless Door Lock Buzzer Answer Back Function and without Smart Entry and Start System

      In disarmed state 1, when the ignition switch is off, the system state is switched if the following condition is met when the door control transmitter assembly is not in the ignition or starter switch assembly:


      • With all doors, the engine hood and luggage compartment door closed, all doors are locked by wireless operation or key linked power door lock operation.

      (2) 30 seconds elapse.

      • The doors are unlocked by wireless operation or key linked power door lock operation.

      • Any door is unlocked.

      • Any door is opened.

      • When the door control transmitter assembly is not in the ignition or starter switch assembly.

      • The ignition switch is turned to ACC or ON.

      • The battery is reconnected.

      • The engine hood is opened.

      • The luggage compartment door is opened.

      • The battery is reconnected.

      • Any door is opened.

      • Any door is unlocked.

      • Turn the ignition switch to ON when the door control transmitter assembly is not in the ignition or starter switch assembly.

      • The ignition switch is turned to ON and the engine is running for more than 2 seconds.

      • All doors are unlocked by wireless operation or key linked power door lock operation.

      • The ignition switch is turned to ACC or ON when the door control transmitter assembly is not in the ignition or starter switch assembly.

      (6) After approximately 27.5 seconds, the alarm stops and the system returns to the armed state.
      (7) The luggage compartment door is opened by wireless operation.

      • The luggage compartment door is open → closed (the engine hood is already closed).

      • The engine hood is open → closed (the luggage compartment door is already closed).

      • Any door is unlocked.

      In disarmed state 1, when the ignition switch is off, all doors are locked, the engine hood and luggage compartment door are open, the system state is switched if the following condition is met when the key is not in the key cylinder:


      • All doors are closed (when any door was previously opened).

      (7) The luggage compartment door is opened by wireless operation or the smart entry and start system.

      • The luggage compartment door is open → closed (the engine hood is already closed).

      • The engine hood is open → closed (when the luggage compartment door is already closed).

      • Any door is unlocked.

      • Any door is opened.

      • The engine switch is pushed.

      • All doors are unlocked by wireless operation, the smart entry and start system or key linked* power door lock operation.

      • The power source mode changes to on (ACC) or on (IG).

      In disarmed state 1, when the engine switch is off, the system state is switched if the following condition is met:


      • With all doors closed, and the engine hood and luggage compartment door opened, all doors are locked by wireless operation, the smart entry and start system.

      *: The default setting of the key-linked power door lock operation is off. The operation can be enabled using the customizing function.

      In disarmed state 1, when the ignition switch is off, the system state is switched if the following condition is met when the key is not in the key cylinder:


      • With all doors, the engine hood and luggage compartment door closed, all doors are locked by wireless operation.

      • All doors are unlocked by wireless operation.

      • Any door is unlocked.

      • Any door is opened.

      • Key is in the key cylinder.

      • The ignition switch is turned to ACC or ON.

      • The battery is reconnected.

      • Any door is opened.

      • The engine hood is opened.

      • The luggage compartment door is opened.

      • Any door is unlocked.

      • The ignition switch is turned to ON when the key is not in the key cylinder.

      • All doors are unlocked by wireless operation.

      (6) After approximately 27.5 seconds, the alarm stops and 5 seconds later the system returns to the armed state.
      (7) The luggage compartment door is opened by wireless operation.

      • The luggage compartment door is open → closed (the engine hood is already closed).

      • The engine hood is open → closed (the luggage compartment door is already closed).
