FIT STANDARD / ADJUSTMENT METHOD ADJUSTMENT


  1. INSPECT HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Check that the clearance measurements of areas A to E are within the standard range.

      Tech Tips

      Centering bolts are used to mount the hood hinge and hood lock. The hood and hood lock cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts on. Substitute the centering bolts with standard bolts (with washers) when making adjustments.

    2. ADJUST HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY


      1. A004LHW

        Adjust the hood position.


        1. Loosen the 4 hinge bolts on the hood.

        2. Move the hood and adjust the clearance between the hood and front fender.

        3. Tighten the 4 hinge bolts on the hood after the adjustment.

          Torque:
          13 N*m  { 133 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf }
      2. A004LBG

        Adjust the cushion rubber so that the hood and fender are aligned.

        Tech Tips

        Raise or lower the front end of the hood by turning the cushion rubber.

      3. Adjust the hood lock.


        1. A004LIN

          Loosen the 3 bolts.

        2. Adjust the hood lock position so that the striker can enter it smoothly.

        3. Tighten the 3 bolts after the adjustment.

          Torque:
          7.5 N*m  { 76 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf }
    3. INSPECT FRONT DOOR


      1. Check that the clearance measurements of areas A to N are within the standard range.

    4. Tech Tips


      • Before adjusting the door position for vehicles equipped with side airbags and curtain shield airbags, be sure to disconnect the battery. After adjustment, inspect the SRS warning light, side airbag system and curtain shield airbag system for normal operation.

      • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

      • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

      • Centering bolts are used to mount the door hinge to the vehicle body and door. The door cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts on. Substitute the centering bolts with standard bolts when making adjustments.

    5. ADJUST FRONT DOOR


      1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

        Note


        • w/ Navigation System (for HDD):

          After the ignition switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately a minute to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the ignition switch off, wait a minute or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

        • When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

      2. A004LLM

        Using SST, loosen the hinge bolts on the body and adjust the door position.

      3. Using SST, tighten the hinge bolts on the body after the adjustment.

        Torque:
        26 N*m  { 265 kgf*cm, 19 ft.*lbf }
      4. Loosen the hinge bolts on the door and adjust the door position.

      5. Tighten the hinge bolts on the door after the adjustment.

        Torque:
        26 N*m  { 265 kgf*cm, 19 ft.*lbf }
      6. A004LCW

        Using a T40 "TORX" socket, adjust the striker position by slightly loosening the striker mounting screws and hitting the striker with a plastic-faced hammer.

      7. Using a T40 "TORX" socket, tighten the striker mounting screws after the adjustment.

        Torque:
        23 N*m  { 235 kgf*cm, 17 ft.*lbf }
      8. Connect the negative (-) battery cable to the terminal.

        Note

        When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

      9. Check the SRS warning light.

    6. INSPECT REAR DOOR (for Sedan)

      1. Check that the clearance measurements of areas A to N are within the standard range.

    10. ADJUST REAR DOOR


      1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

        CAUTION:

        Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    *2 for Wagon:

    Loosen the hinge bolts on the door and adjust the door position.

  • Tighten the hinge bolts on the door after the adjustment.

    Torque:
    26 N*m  { 265 kgf*cm, 19 ft.*lbf }
  • Using a T40 "TORX" socket, adjust the striker position by slightly loosening the striker mounting screws and hitting the striker with a plastic-faced hammer.

  • Using a T40 "TORX" socket, tighten the striker mounting screws after the adjustment.

    Torque:
    23 N*m  { 235 kgf*cm, 17 ft.*lbf }
  • Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

    1. Check that the clearance measurements of areas A to D are within the standard range.

    2. ADJUST LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

        Horizontally and vertically adjust the door position by loosening the door side hinge bolts.

      2. Tighten the door side hinge bolts after the adjustment.

        Torque:
        7.5 N*m  { 76 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf }

        Remove the rear floor finish plate.

      4. Adjust the striker position by slightly loosening the striker mounting screws and hitting the striker with a plastic-faced hammer.

      5. Tighten the striker mounting screws after the adjustment.

        Torque:
        5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }
    3. INSPECT BACK DOOR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY


      1. Check that the clearance measurements of areas A to E are within the standard range.

    4. ADJUST BACK DOOR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY


      1. A004LIX

        Horizontally and vertically adjust the door position by loosening the door side hinge bolts.

      2. Adjust the back door by moving it up and down and left and right so that the dimensions are within the specified range.

      3. Tighten the hinge bolts.

        Torque:
        20 N*m  { 204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf }
    5. ADJUST BACK DOOR LOWER LOCK STRIKER ASSEMBLY


      1. A004LGR

        Adjust the striker position by slightly loosening the striker mounting bolts and hitting the striker with a plastic-faced hammer.

      2. Tighten the striker mounting bolts after the adjustment.

        Torque:
        12 N*m  { 122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }
