BACK DOOR REASSEMBLY


  1. INSTALL BACK DOOR STAY BOLT (for LH Side)


    1. A01IPV9

      When replacing the back door stay bolt with a new one:


      1. Clean the threaded portion on the vehicle body with a non-residue solvent.

      2. Install the back door stay bolt.

        Torque:
        22 N*m  { 224 kgf*cm, 16 ft.*lbf }

    2. When reusing the back door stay bolt:


      1. Clean the threaded portion on the vehicle body with a non-residue solvent.

      2. Apply adhesive to the threads of the back door stay bolt.

        Adhesive
        Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent
      3. A01IPV9

        Install the back door stay bolt.

        Torque:
        22 N*m  { 224 kgf*cm, 16 ft.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL BACK DOOR STAY BOLT (for RH Side)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  3. INSTALL UPPER BACK DOOR DAMPER STAY BRACKET LH


    1. Clean the threaded portion on the vehicle body with a non-residue solvent.

    2. Apply adhesive to the threads of the 2 bolts.

      Adhesive
      Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent
    3. A01IUB4

      Install the upper back door damper stay bracket with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      7.0 N*m  { 71 kgf*cm, 62 in.*lbf }

  4. INSTALL UPPER BACK DOOR DAMPER STAY BRACKET RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  5. INSTALL BACK DOOR STAY ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Install the 2 stop rings to the back door stay assembly.

    2. A01IPVV

      Install the back door stay assembly.

      CAUTION:

      Install the back door stay assembly while supporting the back door by hand.

    3. Check that the back door stay assembly is attached at the ball joint and that the back door stay assembly cannot be pulled off.

  6. INSTALL BACK DOOR STAY ASSEMBLY RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  7. INSTALL REAR TELEVISION CAMERA ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear View Monitor System)


    1. A01IPAK

      Attach the 4 claws to install the rear television camera.

  8. INSTALL BACK DOOR OPENER SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. A01IUSX

      Connect the connector and install the back door opener switch.

  9. INSTALL LICENSE PLATE LIGHT ASSEMBLY


    1. A01INK8

      Attach the 4 claws to install the 2 lights.

    2. Connect the 2 connectors.

  10. INSTALL BACK DOOR OUTSIDE GARNISH


    1. Attach the 3 clips to install the back door outside garnish.

    2. Install the 6 nuts.

  11. INSTALL BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY


    1. A01IQJ0

      Connect the connector.

    2. Install the back door lock assembly with the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      7.5 N*m  { 76 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf }

  12. INSTALL REAR WIPER MOTOR GROMMET

      *1 MP grease

      Apply MP grease to the entire inner surface of the wiper motor grommet.

      Tech Tips

      Make sure that the hole does not get clogged with grease and the grooves in the grommet are filled with grease.

      *1 Position Mark

      Install the rear wiper motor grommet with the position mark facing upward as shown in the illustration.

  13. INSTALL REAR WIPER MOTOR AND BRACKET ASSEMBLY


    1. A01IQRE

      Temporarily install the rear wiper motor and bracket assembly with the 3 bolts.

    2. Tighten the 3 bolts.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

    3. Connect the connector.

  14. INSTALL REAR WIPER ARM


    1. Operate the rear wiper, and stop the rear wiper motor at the automatic stop position.

      *2 Wire Brush
      *3 Wiper Pivot Serrations

      Clean the serrations with a wire brush.

      *1 Mark for Blade Position

      Align the blade tip with the mark on the glass, as shown in the illustration.

      Install the rear wiper arm with the nut.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

    5. Close the wiper arm head cap.

  15. INSTALL REAR WASHER NOZZLE


    1. A01IP8S

      Attach the 2 claws to install the washer nozzle.

    2. A01IRZO

      Connect the hose.

    3. A01IOOP

      Attach the 3 claws to connect the connector holder.

    4. A01IQ0M

      Connect the 2 connectors.

  16. INSTALL REAR SPOILER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    A01IOQL

    1. Attach the 4 clips and pin to install the rear spoiler.

    2. A01IQIZ

      Install the 4 nuts.

  17. INSTALL NO. 2 BACK DOOR PANEL PROTECTOR


    1. Clean the vehicle body surface.


      1. Remove the double-sided tape from the vehicle body surface.

      2. Wipe off any tape adhesive residue with cleaner.

    2. Install the No. 2 back door panel protector.

        *1 Double-sided Tape

        Apply double-sided tape to the No. 2 back door panel protector in the position shown in the illustration.

      2. Remove the peeling paper from the double-sided tape on the No. 2 back door panel protector.

        Tech Tips

        After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

        Install the No. 2 back door panel protector with the clip.

  18. INSTALL NO. 1 BACK DOOR PANEL PROTECTOR

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the No. 2 back door panel protector.

  19. INSTALL BACK DOOR TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY

      Attach the 12 clips to install the back door trim.

    2. A01ITD9

      Attach the clip.

  20. INSTALL BACK DOOR INSIDE HANDLE


    1. A01IN27

      Attach the 4 claws to install the door inside handle.

  21. INSTALL BACK DOOR SIDE GARNISH LH


    1. A01IUHF

      Attach the 2 clips and claw to install the back door side garnish.

  22. INSTALL BACK DOOR SIDE GARNISH RH

      Attach the 2 clips and claw to install the back door side garnish.

  23. INSTALL CENTER STOP LIGHT ASSEMBLY

      Attach the 2 claws to install the stop light.

  24. INSTALL CENTER BACK DOOR GARNISH

      Attach the 4 claws and 4 clips to install the center back door garnish.
