QUARTER WINDOW GLASS REMOVAL

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY (w/ Tonneau Cover)

    1. Remove the tonneau cover.

  2. REMOVE NO. 1 DECK BOARD (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)

    1. Remove the No. 1 deck board.

  3. REMOVE NO. 2 DECK BOARD (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)

    1. Detach the 5 clips and remove the No. 2 deck board.

  4. REMOVE FRONT DECK FLOOR BOX (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)

    1. Remove the 3 bolts and front deck floor box.

  5. REMOVE LOWER DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)

    1. Detach the claw and 2 guides, and remove the lower deck trim side board.

  6. REMOVE LOWER DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD RH (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  7. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX LH (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)

      1. Detach the 4 claws and remove the deck floor box.

    2. A01IN2Q

      w/ Rear No. 2 Seat:


      1. Remove the bolt.

      2. Detach the 3 claws and guide, and remove the deck floor box.

  8. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX RH (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)

      1. Detach the 2 claws and guide, and remove the deck floor box.

    2. A01IPFF

      w/ Rear No. 2 Seat:


      1. Remove the bolt.

      2. Detach the 2 claws and guide, and remove the deck floor box.

  9. REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat, w/ Spare Tire)


    1. Remove the rear deck floor box.

  10. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)

    1. Detach the 4 claws and 6 clips, and remove the deck board.

  11. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRAY (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat, w/ Spare Tire)

    1. Remove the luggage compartment tray.

  12. REMOVE DECK RAIL COVER (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat, w/o Spare Tire)

    1. Remove the clip.

    2. Detach the 2 claws and 2 guides, and remove the deck rail cover.

  13. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX LH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)

    1. w/o Rear No. 2 Seat:


      1. Detach the 4 claws and remove the deck floor box.

    2. A01IN2Q

      w/ Rear No. 2 Seat:


      1. Remove the bolt.

      2. Detach the 3 claws and guide, and remove the deck floor box.

  14. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX RH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)

    1. w/o Rear No. 2 Seat:


      1. Detach the 2 claws and guide, and remove the deck floor box.

    2. A01IPFF

      w/ Rear No. 2 Seat:


      1. Remove the bolt.

      2. Detach the 2 claws and guide, and remove the deck floor box.

  15. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BELT HOLE COVER LH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)

    1. Detach the 2 claws and 6 guides, and remove the deck trim side belt hole cover in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.

  16. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BELT HOLE COVER RH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  17. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure to remove the cover on the other side.

      Detach the 2 claws and remove the cover.

  18. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SEAT TRACK COVER (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)

      Detach the 3 claws and 2 guides, and then remove the cover.

  19. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SEAT ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)


    1. Disconnect the connector under the seat.

    2. Remove the 5 bolts.

    3. Pull the 2 straps and fold down the 2 seatbacks.

    4. Remove the 2 bolts.

    5. Remove the rear No. 2 seat assembly from the vehicle.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

  20. REMOVE REAR DECK TRIM COVER

    1. Detach the 6 claws and 4 guides, and remove the rear deck trim cover.

  21. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

    1. Detach the 9 claws and 2 clips, and remove the rear door scuff plate.

  22. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

    1. Remove the rear door opening trim weatherstrip.

  23. REMOVE FRONT DECK SIDE TRIM COVER LH

    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the front deck side trim cover.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  24. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE SERVICE HOLE COVER

    Use the same procedure to remove the deck trim side service hole cover on the other side.


    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and 2 guides, and remove the deck trim side service hole cover.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  25. REMOVE LUGGAGE HOLD BELT STRIKER ASSEMBLY

    Use the same procedure for all the luggage hold belt strikers.


    1. Remove the bolt and luggage hold belt striker.

  26. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH

    1. w/ Rear No. 1 Seat:

      Remove the bolt and rear No. 1 seat belt anchor.

    2. A01IRRR

      w/ Rear No. 2 Seat:

      Remove the bolt and rear No. 2 seat belt anchor

    3. Remove the 2 bolts.

    4. Detach the 6 clips and 7 claws.

    5. Disconnect the connector and remove the deck trim side panel.

  27. REMOVE INNER ROOF SIDE GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH


    1. w/ Rear No. 1 Seat:


      1. A01IRBT

        Using a moulding remover, detach the 2 claws and open the rear No. 1 seat belt shoulder anchor cover.

      2. A01IQVY

        Remove the bolt and rear No. 1 seat belt shoulder anchor.

    2. w/ Rear No. 2 Seat:


      1. A01ISCE

        Using a moulding remover, detach the 2 claws and open the rear No. 2 seat belt shoulder anchor cover.

      2. A01IRKY

        Remove the bolt and rear No. 2 seat belt shoulder anchor.

    3. A01IRBL

      Detach the 7 clips and remove the inner roof side garnish.

  28. REMOVE QUARTER WINDOW ASSEMBLY LH

    *1 Protective Tape

    Tech Tips

    Apply protective tape to the outer surface of the vehicle body to prevent scratches.

    Note

    When separating the quarter window from the vehicle, be careful not to damage the vehicle paint or interior/exterior ornaments.


    1. Disconnect the connectors.

    2. Using a knife, cut off the moulding as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

      *1 Piano Wire
      *2 Spacer

      From the interior, insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and quarter window as shown in the illustration.

    4. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends.

    5. Cut through the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the quarter window.

      Note

      Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible when removing the quarter window.

    6. Detach the 2 clips and remove the quarter window.

  29. REMOVE QUARTER WINDOW MOULDING LH


    1. Using a scraper, remove the moulding.

      Note


      • Be careful not to damage the quarter window.

      • Be sure to replace the quarter window moulding with a new one.

  30. REMOVE QUARTER WINDOW GLASS LH SPACER


    1. Using a scraper, remove the spacer.

      Note


      • Be careful not to damage the quarter window.

      • Be sure to replace the quarter window spacer with new one.

  31. CLEAN VEHICLE BODY

      *2 Vehicle Body

      Clean and shape the contact surface of the vehicle body.


      1. On the contact surface of the vehicle body, use a knife to cut away excess adhesive as shown in the illustration.

        Note

        Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

        Tech Tips

        Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible.

      2. Clean the contact surface of the vehicle body with cleaner.
