COMPRESSOR (for 1WW) ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT COMPRESSOR FOR METALLIC SOUND


    1. Check if an abnormal metallic sound from the compressor is heard when the A/C switch is ON and the compressor is operating.

      If an abnormal metallic sound is heard, replace the compressor assembly with pulley.

  2. INSPECT REFRIGERANT PRESSURE

  3. INSPECT FOR LEAKAGE OF REFRIGERANT


    1. Using a halogen leak detector, check for leakage of refrigerant.

      If there is any leakage, replace the compressor assembly with pulley.

  4. INSPECT COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY WITH PULLEY


    1. Check the operation of the compressor assembly with pulley.


      1. Start the engine.

      2. Inspect the compressor assembly with pulley.

        OK
        The compressor shaft rotates together with the pulley.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the compressor assembly with pulley.
