FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY REASSEMBLY

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

  • Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.

  • The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


  1. INSTALL SEAT TRACK ADJUSTING HANDLE


    1. A01INFB

      Attach the 2 springs to install the seat track adjusting handle to the front seat adjuster assembly LH.

  2. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 SEAT CUSHION PROTECTOR

    1. Attach the 6 hooks to install the front No. 2 seat cushion protector to the front seat cushion spring.

  3. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 SEAT CUSHION PROTECTOR

    1. Attach the 4 hooks to install the front No. 1 seat cushion protector to the front seat cushion spring.

  4. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SPRING ASSEMBLY


    1. A01ISQOE01

      Install the separate type front seat cushion spring assembly to the front seat adjuster assembly LH in the order shown in the illustration.

  5. INSTALL SEAT TRACK CONTROL CABLE CLAMP

    1. Attach the claw to install the seat track control cable clamp.

  6. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Install the front seat adjuster assembly LH to the front seatback spring sub-assembly with the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      42 N*m  { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }
    2. A01IUMY

      Attach the 5 wire harness clamps.

  7. INSTALL FRONT SEAT LOWER CUSHION SHIELD LH

    1. Install the front seat lower cushion shield LH with the screw.

  8. INSTALL FRONT SEAT LOWER CUSHION SHIELD RH

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  9. INSTALL LOWER RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH

    1. Install the lower reclining adjuster inside cover LH with the screw.

  10. INSTALL UPPER RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER LH

    1. Attach the hook.

    2. Install the upper reclining adjuster inside cover LH with the screw.

  11. INSTALL LOWER RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH

  12. INSTALL UPPER RECLINING ADJUSTER INSIDE COVER RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

  13. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK HEATER ASSEMBLY LH

      Install the front seatback heater assembly LH to the front separate type front seatback cover with new tack pins.

  14. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER

      Install the separate type front seatback pad.

      Using hog ring pliers, connect the 2 straps to the separate type front seatback pad with new hog rings.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the cover.

      w/o Table:

      Using hog ring pliers, install the upper part of the separate type front seatback cover to the seatback wire with new hog rings.

      Using hog ring pliers, install the upper part of the separate type front seatback cover to the seatback wire with new hog rings.

      Attach the seatback cover bracket and install the nut.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

      Note

      After the separate type front seatback cover is installed, make sure the seatback cover bracket is not twisted.

      Using hog ring pliers, install the center of the separate type front seatback cover to the separate type front seatback pad with new hog rings.

      • Be careful not to damage the cover.

      • When installing the hog rings, avoid wrinkling the cover.

      Using hog ring pliers, attach the 2 straps to the separate type front seatback pad with new hog rings.

      Using hog ring pliers, attach the 2 straps to the lower seatback frame with new hog rings.

    12. Attach the 2 hooks.

      Using hog ring pliers, attach the 2 wires at the bottom of the separate type front seatback cover with new hog rings.

      • Be careful not to damage the cover.

  15. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK TABLE ASSEMBLY LH (w/ Table)

      Install the front seatback table assembly LH with the 4 screws.

  16. INSTALL FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT


    1. A01IOYU

      Attach the 4 claws to install the 2 front seat headrest supports.

  17. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER ASSEMBLY LH


    1. A01IQN7

      Install the front seat cushion heater assembly LH to the separate type front seat cushion cover with new tack pins.

  18. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER

      Using hog ring pliers, install the separate type front seat cushion cover to the separate type front seat cushion pad with new hog rings.

      • Be careful not to damage the cover.

  19. INSTALL SEAT CUSHION COVER WITH PAD

    1. Set the seat cushion cover with pad in place.

    2. Attach the hooks to install the seat cushion cover with pad.

  20. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION EDGE PROTECTOR LH

    1. Install the 2 front seat cushion edge protectors.

  21. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH

      Install the front seat inner belt with the nut.

      Torque:
      42 N*m  { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Do not allow the anchor part of the front seat inner belt assembly to overlap the protruding parts of the front seat adjuster.

    2. for Driver Side:

      Connect the connector and attach the clamps.

    3. for Passenger Side:

      Connect the connectors and attach the clamps.

      Close the seatback cover and attach the 2 hooks as shown in the as illustration.

  22. INSTALL FRONT SEAT UNDER TRAY (w/ Under Tray)

      Attach the 2 hooks to install the front seat under tray.

  23. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK ASSEMBLY

    Tech Tips

    Perform this procedure when it is necessary to remove and reinstall or replace the separate type front seatback assembly.


    1. A01IPKY

      Install the separate type front seatback assembly with the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      42 N*m  { 428 kgf*cm, 31 ft.*lbf }

    2. for Driver Side:


      1. A01IONO

        w/ Seat Heater System:

        Connect the connector.

        *2 Fastening Tape

        Connect the airbag wire harness.

        Note

        Be careful not to damage the airbag wire harness or connector.

        Attach the piece of fastening tape to connect the airbag wire harness.

      3. Attach the 2 wire harness clamps.

      4. Connect the airbag wire harness to the seat track control cable clamp and attach the claw to close the seat track control cable clamp.

      5. Attach the claw to connect the airbag connector.

    3. for Front Passenger Side:

        w/ Seat Heater System:

        Connect the connector.

        Connect the airbag wire harness.

        Be careful not to damage the airbag wire harness or connector.

        Attach the piece of fastening tape to connect the airbag wire harness.

      3. Attach the 2 wire harness clamps.

      4. Connect the airbag wire harness to the seat track control cable clamp and attach the claw to close the seat track control cable clamp.

      5. Attach the claw to connect the airbag connector.

    4. Install the outer reclining adjuster cover LH with the screw.

    5. Install the outer reclining adjuster cover RH with the screw.

    6. Attach the 2 hooks.

  24. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER CUSHION SHIELD LH

      Attach the wire harness clamp.

    2. Slide the front seat inner cushion shield LH to attach the hook.

      Push the front seat inner cushion shield LH to attach the hook and claw.

    4. Install the front seat inner cushion shield with the screw.

  25. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH

      Slide the front seat cushion shield LH to attach the 2 hooks.

    2. Push the front seat cushion shield LH to attach the claw.

    3. Install the front seat cushion shield LH with the 2 screws.

      Attach the 2 hooks to connect the 2 rubber bands.

  26. INSTALL RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE LH


    1. A01ITUL

      Attach the claw to install the reclining adjuster release handle LH.

  27. INSTALL VERTICAL ADJUSTING HANDLE LH (for Driver Side)

    1. Install the vertical adjusting handle LH with the 2 screws.

  28. INSTALL VERTICAL SEAT ADJUSTER KNOB CAP (for Driver Side)


    1. A01IRXB

      Attach the 2 claws to install the vertical seat adjuster knob cap.

  29. INSTALL SEAT ADJUSTER COVER CAP LH


    1. A01ITVO

      Install the 2 seat adjuster cover caps.
