METER / GAUGE SYSTEM Fuel Receiver Gauge Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The fuel sender gauge has a variable resistance mechanism. The resistance decreases when the fuel amount increases, and the resistance increases when the fuel amount decreases. The fuel receiver gauge assembly changes based on the resistance of the fuel sender gauge assembly.

  1. CHECK FOR DTC

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - FUEL SUCTION WITH PUMP ASSEMBLY BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the H62 combination meter assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the N18 fuel suction with pump assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H62-37 (L) - N18-2 (FS) Always Below 1 Ω
      H62-24 (E) - N18-3 (FE) Always Below 1 Ω
      H62-21 (ET) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      H62-37 (L) or N18-2 (FS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H62-24 (E) or N18-3 (FE) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. INSPECT FUEL SUCTION WITH PUMP ASSEMBLY

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Disconnect the H62 combination meter assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the N18 fuel tank vent tube sub-assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H62-37 (L) - N18-2 (FS) Always Below 1 Ω
      H62-24 (E) - N18-3 (FE) Always Below 1 Ω
      H62-21 (ET) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      H62-37 (L) or N18-2 (FS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      H62-24 (E) or N18-3 (FE) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  7. INSPECT FUEL TANK VENT TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY
