ULTRASONIC SENSOR (for Front) REMOVAL


  1. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER

      Remove the clip and battery service hole cover.

  2. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER

      Remove the 5 clips.

    2. Detach the 4 hooks and remove the radiator support opening cover.

  3. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE PROTECTOR

    1. Remove the 2 radiator grille protectors.

  4. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER

    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the pin hold clip.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

    2. Remove the screw.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

    3. Put protective tape around the front bumper cover.

    4. Remove the bolt, 2 clips and 6 screws.

    5. Remove the front bumper cover.


      1. Detach the 6 claws.

      2. w/ Headlight Cleaner System:

        Disconnect the headlight cleaner hose and then drain the washer fluid.

        Tech Tips

        Use a container to collect the washer fluid.

      3. w/ Fog Light:

        Disconnect the 2 fog light connectors.

      4. w/ TOYOTA Parking Assist-sensor System:

        Disconnect the No. 4 engine room wire connector.

      5. Remove the front bumper cover.

  5. REMOVE NO. 4 ENGINE ROOM WIRE


    1. Remove the 4 pieces of tape.

    2. Disconnect the 4 connectors.

    3. Detach the 7 clamps and remove the No. 4 engine room wire.

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure for all ultrasonic sensors.


    1. Detach the 2 claws and remove the ultrasonic sensor.

  7. REMOVE NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR CLIP

    Use the same procedure for all No. 1 ultrasonic sensor clips.


    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the claw and remove the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor clip as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  8. REMOVE NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure for all No. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainers.


    1. Detach the 4 claws and remove the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor retainer.
