DESCRIPTION

The ultrasonic sensor sends and receives ultrasonic waves. Based on the received wave, the sensor calculates the approximate distance between the vehicle and the obstacle, and sends the distance value as a signal to the clearance warning ECU.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (FRONT CENTER SENSOR RH)


    1. A01IRBGE01

      Remove the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (front center sensor RH) Click here.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 (E) - 2 (S) Always 20 to 40 kΩ

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT CENTER SENSOR RH - CLEARANCE WARNING ECU)


    1. Disconnect the T2 No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (front center sensor RH) connector.

    2. Disconnect the H95 clearance warning ECU connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      T2-2 (S) - H95-11 (S7) Always Below 1 Ω
      T2-1 (E) - H95-10 (E7) Always Below 1 Ω
      T2-2 (S) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      T2-1 (E) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
