DESCRIPTION

The headlight leveling ECU actuates the headlight leveling motors according to the vehicle conditions.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (HEADLIGHT LEVELING MOTOR)


    1. Using the intelligent tester, perform the Active Test Click here.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT LEVELING MOTOR - HEADLIGHT LEVELING ECU ASSEMBLY)

    1. Disconnect the A49 headlight leveling ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the A9*1 or A22*2 headlight leveling motor connector.


      • *1: for LH

      • *2: for RH

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A49-11 (LHT) - A9-3 (LHT) Always Below 1 Ω
      A49-18 (LH+) - A9-2 (LHM+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A49-24 (LH-) - A9-1 (LHE) Always Below 1 Ω
      A49-11 (LHT) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A49-18 (LH+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A49-24 (LH-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      for RH
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A49-10 (RHT) - A22-3 (RHT) Always Below 1 Ω
      A49-17 (RH+) - A22-2 (RHM+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A49-23 (RH-) - A22-1 (RHE) Always Below 1 Ω

  3. CHECK HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY (OPERATION)


    1. Temporarily replace the headlight assembly (headlight leveling motor) with a new or normally functioning one Click here for Halogen, Click here for HID).

    2. Perform the Active Test of the leveling motors.
