  1. CUSTOMIZING LIGHTING SYSTEM

    Tech Tips

    The following items can be customized.

    Note


    • When the customer requests a change in a function, first make sure that the function can be customized.

    • Be sure to make a note of the current settings before customizing.


    1. Customizing with the intelligent tester.


      1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

      2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

      3. Turn the intelligent tester on.

      4. Enter the following menus: Body / Main Body / Utility / Customize Setting.

      5. Select the setting by referring to the table below.

        Sensitivity NORMAL A function to adjust the ambient light sensitivity of the automatic light control system.* Normal/Dark2/Dark1/Light1/Light2
        Follow Me Home Lighting Time 30 s Changes the low beam headlight lighting time when ignition switch is off and light control switch is pulled to flash headlights once. 30 s, 60 s, 90 s, or 120 s

        Tech Tips

        *: The sensitivity adjustment may be difficult to confirm. Check by driving the customer's vehicle.

        Tech Tips

        When the setting is closer to the "Light" side, the system turns the lights on even when the surrounding area is relatively bright. When the setting is closer to the "Dark" side, the system waits until the surrounding area is darker before turning on the lights.

    2. Customizing with Display.


      1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

      2. Enter the following menus: Setup / Vehicle / Vehicle settings.

      3. Select the setting by referring to the table below.

        Tech Tips

    3. Customization of daytime running light functions (w/ Daytime Running Light)


      1. With the vehicle stopped, apply the parking brake.

      2. With the light control switch off, turn the ignition switch to ON.

      3. Turn the ignition switch off and ON again, and then within 5 seconds turn the light control switch on and off 3 times in the high position (the headlights do not turn on when the light control switch is operated).

      4. Confirm that the buzzer sounds once when customization is complete.

        Note


        • Setting is not completed normally if any of the following operations are carried out during the procedure:


          • The ignition switch is turned off.

          • The parking brake is released.

          • The vehicle is moving at a speed of 4 km/h (2 mph) or more.

          • The light control switch is in the head position.

          • The light control switch is in the tail position.

          • The light control switch is in the AUTO position.


        • When the battery has been disconnected or the main body ECU has been replaced, initialize to default status (daytime running light enabled).

        • Customization cannot be recorded if the remote engine start is used to turn the ignition switch to ON when carrying out the procedure.
