WIPER AND WASHER SYSTEM (w/ Rain Sensor) Washer Motor Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The windshield wiper relay receives washer switch information from the windshield wiper switch assembly and operates the windshield washer motor and pump assembly.

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WINDSHIELD WASHER MOTOR - BATTERY)

      Disconnect the A59 motor connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A59-1 - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  2. INSPECT WINDSHIELD WASHER MOTOR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY


    1. A01IRWNE02

      Remove the windshield washer motor Click here.

    2. Apply battery voltage to the windshield washer motor and check the operation of the windshield washer motor.

      OK
      Measurement Condition Specified Condition

      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1

      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 2

      		 Windshield washer motor operation is normal

    NG

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WINDSHIELD WASHER MOTOR - WINDSHIELD WIPER RELAY AND BODY GROUND)

    1. Disconnect the A59 motor connector.

    2. Disconnect the H56 relay connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A59-2 - H56-25 (W) Always Below 1 Ω
      A59-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WINDSHIELD WASHER MOTOR - WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH AND BODY GROUND)

    1. Disconnect the A59 motor connector.

    2. Disconnect the H14 switch connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A59-2 - H14-3 (WF) Always Below 1 Ω
      H14-2 (EW) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      H14-3 (WF) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
