SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH INSTALLATION

Tech Tips


  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.


  1. INSTALL TRANSMISSION SHIFT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH)


    1. Install the 2 transmission shift switches (shift paddle switch) and 2 brackets with 4 new screws.

      Torque:
      2.4 N*m  { 24 kgf*cm, 21 in.*lbf }

      Note

      Make sure that the brackets are securely installed.

  2. INSTALL NO. 1 SWITCH WIRE


    1. Connect the 3 No. 1 switch wire connectors to the 2 transmission shift switches (shift paddle switch) and steering pad switch harness connector.

    2. Attach the 2 harness clamps.

  3. PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD

  4. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE


    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    3. A01IUFO

      Rotate the spiral cable counterclockwise slowly by hand until it feels firm.

      CAUTION:

      Do not turn the spiral cable by the airbag wire harness.

    4. A01ITLH

      Rotate the spiral cable clockwise approximately 2.5 turns to align the marks.

      CAUTION:

      Do not turn the spiral cable by the airbag wire harness.

      Tech Tips

      The spiral cable can be rotated approximately 2.5 turns to both the left and right from the center.

  5. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

  6. INSPECT STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT

  7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  8. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
