DESCRIPTION

When the driving support ECU receives an ECD system malfunction signal from the ECM, this DTC is stored.

When DTC C1A40 is stored, the ECD system DTC will also be stored.

DTC Code DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
C1A40 While vehicle is being driven at speed of approximately 40 km/h (25 mph) or more and cruise control main switch is on, an ECD system malfunction signal is detected for 1 second or more.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Note


  • When replacing the driving support ECU, always replace it with a new one. If a driving support ECU which was installed to another vehicle is used, the information stored in the driving support ECU will not match the information from the vehicle. As a result, a DTC may be stored.

  • After turning the ignition switch off, make sure to wait at least 6 minutes before disconnecting the ECM connector or replacing the ECM.

  • After replacing the ECM, the new ECM needs registration Click here and initialization Click here.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK FOR DTC (ECD SYSTEM)


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Make sure the following conditions are met:

      Tech Tips

      If the detection conditions are not met, the system cannot detect malfunctions.

    3. Check for DTCs Click here.

      OK
      ECD system DTCs are not output.

    NG

    GO TO ECD SYSTEM Click here

    OK

  2. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs Click here.

    2. Make sure the following conditions are met:

      If the detection conditions are not met, the system cannot detect malfunctions.

    3. Check for DTCs Click here.

      OK
      DTC C1A40 is not output.

    REPLACE DRIVING SUPPORT ECU Click here

  3. REPLACE DRIVING SUPPORT ECU
