GLOW PLUG REMOVAL


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER


    1. A01INMI

      Hold the rear of the No. 1 engine cover and slowly raise it to detach the clip on the rear of the No. 1 engine cover. Continue to raise the No. 1 engine cover to detach the 3 clips on the front and side of the No. 1 engine cover and remove the No. 1 engine cover.

      Note

      Attempting to disengage both front and rear clips at the same time may cause the cover to break.

  4. REMOVE NO. 2 EGR PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the electric EGR control valve connector.

      *1 Nut

      Remove the 3 bolts, 2 nuts, No. 2 EGR pipe sub-assembly and 2 gaskets.

  5. REMOVE ENGINE COVER BRACKET

      Remove the bolt, nut and engine cover bracket.

  6. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE


    1. A01ISJC

      for DPF:

      Disconnect the glow connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and disconnect the engine wire so that the glow plugs can be removed in a later step.

  7. REMOVE NO. 1 GLOW PLUG CONNECTOR (for DPF)

      Remove the 4 grommets.

    2. A01IPP9

      Detach the clamp from the bracket.

    3. A01IS2A

      Remove the 4 nuts and No. 1 glow plug connector.

  8. REMOVE NO. 1 GLOW PLUG CONNECTOR (for CCo)

      Remove the 5 grommets.

      *1 Wire Harness

      Remove the nut and disconnect the wire harness.

    3. Remove the 4 nuts and No. 1 glow plug connector.

  9. REMOVE GLOW PLUG ASSEMBLY


    1. A01IQBH

      Using a 10 mm deep socket wrench, remove the 4 glow plugs.
