GLOW PLUG ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION


  1. REMOVE NO. 1 GLOW PLUG CONNECTOR

  2. INSPECT GLOW PLUG ASSEMBLY


    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Item Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      for DPF Glow plug terminal - Body ground 20°C (68°F) 0.28 Ω or higher
      for CCo Approximately 1.0 Ω

      If the result is not as specified, replace the glow plug assembly.

      Note


      • Be careful not to damage the glow plug as this may cause an open circuit or shorten the life of the glow plugs.


      • Do not allow oil or gasoline to contact the glow plug when cleaning it.


      • Clean any oil on the terminal and bakelite washer with a dry cloth.
