    REMOVE NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER


    1. A01IRS7

      Hold the rear of the cover and raise it to detach the 2 clips on the rear of the cover. Continue to raise the cover to detach the 2 clips on the front of the cover and remove the cover.

      Note:

      Attempting to detach both front and rear clips at the same time may cause the cover to break.

    REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER

      Remove the 3 clips.

    2. Detach the 4 hooks and remove the radiator support opening cover.

    REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

      Remove the 11 clips, 6 bolts and under cover.

  4. Click here

    RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM (w/ Air Conditioning System)


    1. Start the engine.

    2. Turn the A/C switch on.

    3. Operate the cooler compressor while the engine speed is approximately 1000 rpm for 5 to 6 minutes to circulate the refrigerant and collect the compressor oil remaining in each component into the cooler compressor.

    4. Stop the engine.

    5. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system using a refrigerant recovery unit.

    DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT


    1. Loosen the radiator drain cock plug.

      Tip:

      Collect the coolant in a container and dispose of it according to the regulations in your area.

      Remove the radiator reservoir cap.

      CAUTION:

      Do not remove the radiator reservoir cap while the engine and radiator are still hot.

      Pressurized, hot engine coolant and steam may be released and cause serious burns.

    PRECAUTION

    Note:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (Click here).

    DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Click here).

    REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER


    1. Remove the front bumper cover (Click here).

    REMOVE NO. 1 WATER HOSE CLAMP BRACKET


    1. Remove the 2 bolts, detach the 2 claws and remove the hose clamp bracket.

  10. Click here

    REMOVE BATTERY CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the cable from the positive (+) battery terminal.

    2. Remove the bolt and loosen the nut.

    3. Remove the battery clamp.

    REMOVE BATTERY

    REMOVE BATTERY TRAY

    REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT


    1. Disconnect the hood lock cable.

    2. Disconnect the horn connector.

    3. Detach the 2 clamps and disconnect the No. 2 water by-pass hose.

    4. Remove the 4 bolts and upper radiator support.

    REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT CUSHION

      Remove the 2 cushions.

    REMOVE NO. 2 FAN SHROUD

      Detach the No. 3 water by-pass hose clamp.

      Remove the 2 bolts, detach the 2 claws and remove the fan shroud.

    DISCONNECT DISCHARGE HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Air Conditioning System)


    1. A01IS12

      Remove the bolt and disconnect the discharge hose sub-assembly from the condenser.

      Note:

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the discharge hose sub-assembly.

      Note:

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

    DISCONNECT SUCTION PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Air Conditioning System)


    1. A01IS4X

      Remove the bolt and disconnect the suction pipe sub-assembly from the condenser.

      Note:

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the suction pipe sub-assembly.

      Note:

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

    REMOVE CONDENSER ASSEMBLY WITH RECEIVER (w/ Air Conditioning System)


    1. Remove the condenser assembly with receiver as shown in the illustration.

    REMOVE AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR (for Automatic Air Conditioning System)


    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Using a screwdriver, detach the clamp and remove the sensor.

      Tip:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

      Detach the claw and remove the cooler bracket.

    DISCONNECT NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS HOSE


    1. A01INDB

      Disconnect the No. 1 water by-pass hose from the radiator.

    DISCONNECT NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS HOSE


    1. A01ISM5

      Disconnect the No. 3 water by-pass hose from the No. 2 water by-pass hose.

  22. Click here

    DISCONNECT NO. 3 RADIATOR HOSE


    1. A01IQVX

      Disconnect the No. 3 radiator hose from the radiator.

    DISCONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE


    1. A01IQ7W

      Disconnect the No. 2 radiator hose from the radiator.

    REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY


    1. A01IT13

      Disconnect the cooling fan ECU connector and wire harness clamp.

      Note:

      Be careful not to damage the connector and wire harness clamp.

    2. A01ISCM

      Remove the radiator together with the fan shroud.

    3. Remove the 2 lower radiator supports.

    REMOVE NO. 3 WATER BY-PASS HOSE

      Remove the No. 3 water by-pass hose from the radiator.

    REMOVE FAN SHROUD

      Remove the 2 bolts and fan shroud from the radiator.
