WATER PUMP REMOVAL


  1. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY

  2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT


    1. Loosen the radiator drain cock plug.

      Tech Tips

      Collect the coolant in a container and dispose of it according to the regulations in your area.

    2. Remove the radiator reservoir cap.

      CAUTION:

      Do not remove the radiator reservoir cap while the engine and radiator are still hot.

      Pressurized, hot engine coolant and steam may be released and cause serious burns.

  3. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY


    1. Rotate the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly clockwise and remove the 5 mm hexagon wrench that was used to secure the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly when removing the V-ribbed belt.

      *a 3 mm Hexagon Wrench

      Rotate the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly slightly clockwise and secure it using a 3 mm hexagon wrench as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      It is difficult to install the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly when it is fully extended. When reusing the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly, compress and secure the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly before removing it.

      Remove the 2 bolts and V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly from the engine assembly.

  4. REMOVE ENGINE WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 6 bolts and engine water pump assembly from the timing chain cover.

    2. A01IQKE

      Remove the gasket from the timing chain cover.
