COOLING FAN MOTOR ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION


  1. INSPECT NO. 1 COOLING FAN MOTOR


    1. Disconnect the No. 1 cooling fan motor connector.

      Component without harness connected

      (No. 1 Cooling Fan Motor)

      Connect the battery and an ammeter to the No. 1 cooling fan motor connector.

    3. Check that the No. 1 cooling fan rotates smoothly, and then check the reading on the ammeter.

      Standard Current
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A28-2 Motor is turning at 20°C (68°F) when battery voltage is 12 V 12.2 to 15.7 A

      If the result is not as specified, replace the No. 1 cooling fan motor.

    4. Reconnect the No. 1 cooling fan motor connector.

  2. INSPECT NO. 2 COOLING FAN MOTOR


    1. Disconnect the No. 2 cooling fan motor connector.

      (No. 2 Cooling Fan Motor)

      Connect the battery and an ammeter to the No. 2 cooling fan motor connector.

    3. Check that the No. 2 cooling fan rotates smoothly, and then check the reading on the ammeter.

      Standard Current
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A29-2 Motor is turning at 20°C (68°F) when battery voltage is 12 V 7.4 to 10.9 A

      If the result is not as specified, replace the No. 2 cooling fan motor.

    4. Reconnect the No. 2 cooling fan motor connector.
