MONOLITHIC CONVERTER REMOVAL


  1. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR

  2. REMOVE EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR


  3. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE OUTER COWL TOP PANEL

      Remove the 9 bolts and outer cowl top panel.

  5. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER

      Remove the 4 clips and No. 2 engine under cover.

  6. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR CENTER BRACE


    1. A01IOAZ

      Remove the 4 bolts and front floor center brace.

  7. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the 4 bolts and 4 compression springs.

    2. Disconnect the front exhaust pipe assembly from the 3 exhaust pipe supports.

    3. Remove the 2 gaskets.

  8. DISCONNECT NO. 1 VACUUM TRANSMITTING HOSE

      Disconnect the No. 1 vacuum transmitting hose.

  9. REMOVE NO. 1 MANIFOLD CONVERTER INSULATOR

      Remove the 7 bolts, nut and No. 1 manifold converter insulator.

  10. REMOVE NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR

      Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 exhaust manifold heat insulator.

  11. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CONVERTER SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01ITNJ

      Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and manifold stay.

    2. A01ITH7

      Remove the bolt and No. 2 manifold converter insulator.

    3. A01ITHI

      Loosen the V-band clamp.

    4. Remove the 3 nuts, 2 bolts, V-band clamp, gasket, engine bracket and exhaust manifold converter sub-assembly.
