DESCRIPTION

This circuit opens and closes the Intake Air Control Valve (IACV) in response to the engine load in order to increase the intake efficiency (ACIS: Acoustic Control Induction System).

PROCEDURE


  1. Click here

    PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (OPERATE VSV FOR ACIS)


    1. Disconnect the vacuum hose from port F of the vacuum switching valve (for ACIS).

    2. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    3. Start the engine.

    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Active the VSV for Intake Control.

    5. Operate the VSV for ACIS.

    6. Check the VSV air flow when switching the VSV on and off.

      OK
      Test Condition Specified Condition
      VSV is ON Air from port E flows out through port F
      VSV is OFF Air from port E flows out through air filter

    CHECK VACUUM HOSES (VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE - INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE, INTAKE MANIFOLD)


    1. Check the vacuum hoses (Click here).

    INSPECT INTAKE MANIFOLD (INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE)


    1. Inspect the intake air control valve (Click here).

    INSPECT VSV FOR ACIS


    1. Inspect the VSV for ACIS (Click here).


  5. Click here

    CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE - ECM AND INTEGRATION RELAY)


    1. Disconnect the VSV for ACIS connector.

    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.

    3. Remove the integration relay from the engine room relay block.

    4. Disconnect the integration relay connector.

    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C38-1 - C68-38 (ACIS) Always Below 1 Ω
      C38-2 - 1B-4 Always Below 1 Ω
      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C38-1 or C68-38 (ACIS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C38-2 or 1B-4 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    6. Reconnect the VSV for ACIS connector.

    7. Reconnect the ECM connector.

    8. Reconnect the integration relay connector.

    9. Install the integration relay.
