CONDENSER REMOVAL


  1. PRECAUTION (w/ Navigation System for HDD)

    Note

    After turning the power switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work Click here.

  2. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM


    1. Turn the A/C switch on.

    2. Operate the A/C with the setting temperature at 25°C (77°F) and the blower level at LO for 10 minutes to circulate the refrigerant. This causes most of the compressor oil from the various components of the A/C system to collect in the A/C compressor.

    3. Turn the power switch off.

    4. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system using a refrigerant recovery unit.

  3. REMOVE REAR DECK FLOOR BOX


    1. A01NIBL

      Remove the 3 clips and the rear deck floor box.

  4. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Click here.

  5. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System)


    1. A01NKRX

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the 3 bolts and the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly.

  7. REMOVE LOW PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY


    1. A01NJR2

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and low pitched horn assembly.

  8. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER (for LHD)


    1. A01NMRC

      Remove the 3 screws.

    2. Disengage the clamp and remove the hood lock control cable cover.

  9. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER (for RHD)


    1. A01NNBE

      Remove the 3 screws.

    2. Disengage the clamp and remove the hood lock control cable cover.

  10. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

      Using a screwdriver, remove the hood lock nut cap.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

      Remove the 2 bolts and hood lock nut.

    3. A01NIJC

      Disconnect the connector.

    4. Disconnect the hood lock control cable and remove the hood lock assembly.

  11. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY (for RHD)

      Using a screwdriver, remove the hood lock nut cap.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. A01NLYO

      Remove the 2 bolts and hood lock nut.

    3. A01NMST

      Disconnect the connector.

    4. Disconnect the hood lock control cable and remove the hood lock assembly.

  12. REMOVE HIGH PITCHED HORN ASSEMBLY


    1. A01NIXM

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and high pitched horn assembly.

  13. REMOVE SMOG VENTILATION SENSOR (w/ Smog Ventilation Sensor)


    1. A01NNA9

      Disconnect the connector.

    2. Remove the bolt

    3. Disengage the guide and remove the smog ventilation sensor.

  14. REMOVE INTAKE AIR RESONATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01NID6

      Disconnect the 3 clamps and separate the water hose from the intake air resonator sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and intake air resonator sub-assembly from the inverter with converter assembly.

  15. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR CLEANER INLET


    1. A01NIJ9

      Remove the 2 bolts and inlet No. 2 air cleaner.

  16. REMOVE NO. 3 INVERTER BRACKET


    1. A01NI95

      Disconnect the water hose clamp from the No. 3 inverter bracket.

    2. Remove the bolt, nut and No. 3 inverter bracket.

  17. REMOVE HOOD LOCK SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01NJZ8

      Disengage each clamp.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and hood lock support subassembly.

  18. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT


    1. A01NMEO

      Disconnect the 3 clamps of the hood lock control cable and remove the 5 bolts and upper radiator support.

  19. DISCONNECT DISCHARGE TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. A01NIY4

      Remove the bolt and disconnect the discharge tube sub-assembly.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the discharge tube subassembly.

      Note

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

  20. DISCONNECT AIR CONDITIONING TUBE AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY


    1. A01NMBA

      Remove the bolt and disconnect the air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.

    2. Remove the O-ring from the air conditioning tube and accessory assembly.

      Note

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

  21. DISCONNECT INLET HYBRID RADIATOR HOSE


    1. A01NKBM

      Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to disconnect the inlet hybrid radiator hose.

      Note


      • Do not apply excessive force to the inlet hybrid radiator hose.

      • Prepare a drain pan or cloth in case the coolant leaks.

  22. DISCONNECT OUTLET HYBRID RADIATOR HOSE


    1. A01NMBH

      Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to disconnect the outlet hybrid radiator hose.

      Note


      • Do not apply excessive force to the outlet hybrid radiator hose.

      • Prepare a drain pan or cloth in case the coolant leaks.

  23. REMOVE COOLER CONDENSER ASSEMBLY

    Tech Tips

    A 2-bolt type radiator can be used in place of a 4-bolt type radiator.

      Remove the 4 bolts and cooler condenser assembly with the radiator assembly.

    2. Radiator (2-bolt type):

        Remove the 2 bolts and cooler condenser assembly from the radiator assembly.

    3. Radiator (4-bolt type):

        Remove the 4 bolts and cooler condenser assembly from the radiator assembly.
